I think they should continue without Rosie. People will still watch.

I don't watch the show so I don't really care. As much as I dislike Rosie, I know the show will fall off the ratings.

I am a republican and I love Elisabeth,, but I was getting so sick of watching that show and her being the only one with my kind of values,, isnt that what the show is supposed to be about, people with diff VIEWS... Rosie is a pig and Joy Behar isn't much better, then they would go off on Elisabeth.. They should get 2 dems and 2 republicans...that would make the show somewhat fair.. and no the view should not just go off the air, just have baba retire..

It should bow out gracefully before it gets canceled.

I don't watch the show, but I'm kind of glad the Rosie is leaving. Prior to her being on the show it seemed like an interesting discussion between a group of women. The few times I saw it after she was on it seemed to be all about her, and the other co-hosts rarely got the chance to be in the limelight...

People love this show.. I'm not sure it's ready to throw in the towel yet.. I'm hoping for another comedian though! Maybe they can get Bonnie Hunt or Caroline Rhea!! They would be great co-hosts!!

It just seems like The View has had too much turmoil on the show between co-hosts. Personally, I'm not interested in watching a show where it seems like everyones fighting with one another (which is why I don't watch the Real World anymore, what happened to that show?).If it's not one thing it's another, they should just bow out while the ratings are decent. Also, Elisabeth's dress is SO CUTE!

I think that over the years the show has gone do far off the path of what it should have been, a show about peple being able to express themselves in an open minded arena. Unless they go back to their roots, this show will die on it's own.

Bonnie Hunt would be awesome Lindsb! I think they should get two new hosts. I saw one blog suggesting Perez Hilton... that might actually be fun enough to watch... even though Im not that much of a fan of his. Lisa Loeb was a good step-in host.
I also think it would be smart of them to change out the hosts every season. That way the audience doesnt get tired of anyone and new "views" are expressed.

There really isn't any competition in that time slot. They should just stick it out. However they need more dynamic hosts. The people that have been guest hosting on a regular basis are BORING, so I don't hope those are the list of replacements.

Before Rosie I didn't give two thoughts to Elizabeth, she was fine on her style network show, but once Rosie came on, it was so political and they both made it uncomfortable to watch. I actually started disliking Elizabeth because she would get so mad and lose focus and go off on these tangents. I keep thinking why is the public entertainment face for Republicans such idiots (Jessica Simpson and Brittany Spears). Ann C is not a celebrity in that sense. Watching the View just made me ask myself all the time, Where is the smart likable faces for women in politics?

Yes they should quit- I NEVER felt that this show did a good job protraying women in a dignified, intelligent manner.
Their discussions are more for entertainment and their content is just more filler material like any other talk show-- I find it insulting and not progressive or an example for women to be proud of.
I thought the show was "ditzy" in other words.
They could've made it much more regal and strong, but didn't.
If they do have women together like this again, it should be less for fun and more for significant matters- ie, a changing panel of female specialists regarding important current topics- ... female political eperts, financial, diplomatic, academic etc experts... who would debate seriously and politely about matters, and share their knowledge openly, to find and to spread better understanding of those topics and spur progress and change.
THEN I would watch again.

i loved watching rosie on the view, and i'm sad she's leaving. the only thing i wish is that they didn't talk about politics so much. i'm the last one to say that politics are boring (i'm big on getting women more involved in politics for sure!), but i just think it got so tedious. it's like every single discussion on hot topics always went back to how much rosie hates bush and how elisabeth just can't shut her mouth sometimes. even if they started talking about a tv show, it would go back to the "war". so i hope their new host is someone who is more neutral, like meredith viera was, so we can talk about more things than JUST politics. i'm sad rosie is leaving, i don't think they should throw in the towel, i just want some more interesting hosts.

I'm just happy Rosie is gone- once she is actually off the show I might start watching it- eh probably not but I hope Rosie climbs into a hole and we don't have to hear from her every again. She makes me want to vomit.

I have no idea if it should go on or not because I've never seen The View ) not from the States as you already guessed, but they have bought the format and we have our version of the show here for about a month and I really like it

I haven't watched The View too much but my best friend swears that the show got so much funnier when Rosie was added. Apparently Rosie & Joy are the funny ones but she also really likes Elizabeth. From the shows I have watched - the parts that made it interesting were the friction between super liberal Rosie & conservative Elizabeth and the funny comments made by the comedians (Joy & Rosie). It will be interesting to see if the show lasts.

Yeah, it can survive if they stop bringing in opinionated, argumentative people. Someone neautral and intelligent would be better.

I'm sad to see Rosie go. I used to manage this site that ripped on stupid celebrities that thought they were so smart. It was hilarious. Lately, she had provided the most material. Oh well, back to ripping on the other ones. It should really start heating up after the summer.

I don't know that the show will be any good without Rosie. I didn't watch it before she came on. The show is only good when it has a controversial character on it... Like Rosie or Star Jones Reynolds.

I don't really care bc I don't really watch the show. I did see one episode a few years ago tho and it was really just a bunch of women talking loudly over each other for an hour. Nothing special.

Time to retire. That show is so BORING. I gotta admit, even though Rosie is annoying majority of the time, she is the only reason I give the view the time of day. But honestly, it's time to throw in the towel!!

I think the show will be just fine in light of Rosie's impending departure. She is a polemic of epic proportions. Not only that, she was abrasive and obnoxious. The episodes I saw, she always dominated the discussions and was quite overbearing in the process. I think the other ladies were always walking on eggshells around her. Heaven forbid anybody disagree with almighty Rosie! Maybe now The View can go back to being a free-flowing forum for the exchange of ideas. The ambiance will be much more tranquil on the set. Hopefully now EVERYBODY can have a turn in the limelight, instead of just Rosie. I applaud the fact that she will be stepping down!

i use to watch the view but kinda got bored with it. but then rosie came on board, i thought it got better and started watching again. i guess i'll watch again if they can find someone that'll have that interesting spunk that rosie gave the view this year.
