Katie Gets to Making Mad Money

After months (months!) of planning, Katie is finally hard at work on her next big project, Mad Money. She looks happy, which is a good thing, whether or not this film is going to go down in cinematic history. Hey, at least she doesn't look like she's a woman trapped in some sort of marital prison. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Katie on set with her costars Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton (random!) so hopefully she'll bring her little Suri along for a few days of shoots. Despite Tom's warnings that he would remain within feet of Katie throughout the movie making, there's no sight of him in these pics. Perhaps he's lightened up a bit? Sounds likely.

Blechh. Someone please tell me why she had a 2nd nose job (a few weeks before this year's Oscars). She looks like Michael Jackson in the pic where she's by herself. Something or someone is a bad influence in her life.

I havent seen enough of her work to know if she is any good.
I would like to see her in a strong role ( has she done any?) I didnt mind Batman Begins but it wasnt focused on her so didnt really get to see what her range is

Girl6, your comments actually are right to the point!Also LadLibertine, when I come to think, me too, I don't really remember her from anything else than the Dawson's...
Anyway, I still think the ideas about Tom's stocking were just media's inventions.

I dont believe *everything on paper* especially by online gossip rags and the tabloids. Even the news industry gets many scoops wrong. I havent seen much of Katie on TV but I love her performances in Pieces of April,The Gift and Thank you for Smoking. She has some impressive Independent projects in her resumes. She should have come back for Batman. She fit the part so well and she's a good match for Bale.

But overall Im glad she's back to work and will watch whatever she's doing. With comedy out her way I hope she does some action film.

for Katie's sake, i hope this movie does great! she was in Disturbing Behavior right? that was pretty good. and in Thank you for smoking she rocked. never watched Dawson, a little too old to enjoy that show i guess. go kate go. make money - hide it from the "church - and plan your's and suri's escape!

I love the Queen.. yeah she looks so interested in being next to Katie. Katie is a bad actress... give me a break she did not get this role becuase of TinyTom.. oh right it was her "Teaching Mrs. Tingle" that has raised her to star status. If Katie looks happy, which I do not think she does, it is because she is getting some of her contract negotiations.. like becoming a movie star to play TinyToms beard!

while reading through the comments i realized i didn't remember her from any movie at all...until someone mentioned thank you for smoking. it's a really good independet movie (far better anything cruise has done!) and she does show she can actually act! loved that movie...

I am very wishy washy when it comes to Katie, there are days I don't mind her, and there are days I can't even stand to look at her. I like Tom Cruise as an actor, I just can't ever watch or read anything more about him, for fear of ruining what is left in my heart from many bad 80's movies. LOL
Katie does look different without Tom around, though I am sure he is there somewhere...
An aside, does anyone else think she looks a little more like Posh in that pic by herself, very angular... jmo

Haven't seen her in much but she's not too bad. I jus can't get pst how she talks out of one side of her Mouth. Ugh that irks me so bad. I hated it on Dawson's I;m like what did you have a stroke at twelve or are you permanently novacained on that side

I really like Queen Latifah. I think she has such a fun aura about her. I would watch her in anything.

As for Katie, I don't think she is a good actress, but I do think the speculation about her and Tom is pretty harsh and largely untrue. He is a one man empire, and has built so much security around him and his people that I doubt the tabloids can find any "leaks". I think the attacks on "alien" Suri are so uncalled for.

@ Jillness I was just about to add how much I love Queen Latifah..even though the post is technically about Katie.

I love Queen so much that I did a black history report on her in the 5th grade and she wasn't nearly as huge a star as she is now. I watch Living Single reruns faithfully lol
