Sarah Jessica Parker was caught out in her super casual wear while running errands in the West Village this weekend. Looks like she's practicing what she preaches. In the June issue of Glamour she talks about why she chose to go cheap chic with her new clothing line Bitten. Here's more:

"Madonna’s line for H&M is extremely directional, provocative and sexy. I don’t know J.Lo’s line as well, but I know that it’s much more trendy than Bitten. L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani is much more avant-garde, definitely high fashion. But I don’t want to do that for women, because that’s not really their lives. - On Bitten:
"Bitten is simple silhouettes that are affordable. You’re going to be able to buy $200 worth of clothes, leave that store with six bags and be able to pay your utilities and take your kids someplace special for their birthday. It’s a very different philosophy about shopping. It’s the first and only time I’ve wanted to design... It's a way of giving women without financial means access to good, simple, well-made clothes to feel proud of." - On being frugal:
"I often return things because the spending gives me anxiety. But I'm not without my indulgences. And I don't pretend I'm not enjoying the great fortune I've had."
A lot of the celebrity collections these days seem to be easy on the wallet. This allows us to buy more and give back (besides celebrity designers, celebs doing good is the other great trend these days). I can surely support both of these things.

I am really excited for her clothing line. I have loved SJP since the 80's. Anyone remember "Girls Just Want To Have Fun"? It was one of my fav movies when I was a kid. Love her, and what she is doing. I can't wait for her clothes to come out. I just hope it will bein a store close to me.
