I do not think they are friends, it's probably easier to just act like they get along instead of fighting back and forth in interviews and such. But then again what do I know?

Nobody could give two shiats about Brooke Shields until Tom opened up his Crazy mouth and spewed his crazy nonsense. Since she has "forgiven him", she has been in the spotlight and her "friendship" with Katie continues to keep her in eye of the media. This translates to exposure for Brooke which means opportunities - ie. selling toothpast on my television for $. So, in my humble opinion, it's a business move, pure and simple.

I never thought they were friends. They were both in a movie together about 25 years ago and were probably professionaly cordial, but until he went all nuts about her book, I never had the impression they hung out together, so I think it's image rehab for him to be seen with her.

I think they pretend to get along now because their babies have the same birthday. It's still all stranger than fiction...

They're using each other. He's trying to get his nice guy image back and in exchange for playing along maybe Brooke will get some help with her next project. I can't imagine she actually likes that crazy freak.
