Update: Madonna's rep, Liz Rosenberg, confirms that Madonna and Guy Ritchie will divorce after seven and a half years of marriage. The couple requests that the public respect their privacy. They have not agreed on a settlement.

This isn't the first time we've heard this, but according to multiple reports, Madonna and Guy Ritchie are preparing to confirm their plans to divorce. The news was first reported yesterday by UK's The Sun, which claims that the announcement will be coming "imminently" and that the couple is tired of "the pretense" and wants the divorce finalized by Christmas.
The NY Post says the announcement is expected as early as today. Madonna recently started the US leg of her tour while Ritchie has been in the UK, and supposedly they recently underwent a final Kabbalah course to try and save their relationship. Back in June when all the reports came out that Madonna and Guy were on the brink of a split, most of you believed it was for real this time, and while we'll wait for the official announcement or denial, it's always sad when couples break up, especially when kids are involved.

They have been going to announce their split for like 2 years-
1What?? Kabbalah couldn't save their relationship?
2This is rather sad news but not really surprising. Unfortunately it's their 3 children who'll be affected the most by the split.
LOL Brian. Too true.
3if its trut, its true
if its not, then its not...but i will not be surprised either way
hope for the best though!
4I knew Madonna and Ritchie weren't going to last. When we all heard about Guy Ritchie we all thought he was pretty much a nobody. Madonna is surrounded by so many male celebs and she's been with him forever. In Hollywood, couples don't last very long. So this was to be expected. I wish they'd stay together though.
5seems like the press wants them divorced badly.
i hope it's not true.
6Hope they stay together. I wonder how active he is with Kabbalah. To me that seems like it could be divisive if she is really into it and he isn't.
7that's too bad. i liked them as a couple. i guess it's tough to keep a marriage together with the competing careers and coasts.
8According to reports like these, Madonna and Guy have spent the majority of their marriage trying to split.
I'll wait on the official before I believe it.
9It's official they are divorcing. The statement was just sent out.
10To be honest, I always thought he was too good for her and too young also. He can get someone younger and cuter and less self-involved.
11Well, I guess A-Rod will finally be sliding into Madge's home base!
12These two never went together very well. I've been a Madonna fan since she hit the scene in '83. She had way more chemistry with Sean Penn! I hope the next guys she hooks up with isn't as boring as Guy Richie.
13I'm totally with you, fleurfairy... Hey Guy, try me
14Tired of this
15Is anyone really surprised by this? Madonna's ego is the size of Texas and she is a major control freak. The only person Madonna truly loves is herself.
16I'll believe this when they announce it themselves, the press has been pushing for them to divorce for ages . . . I think Guy can do better also, Madonna is starting to look so weird and creepy
17well its offical
damn
Madonna and Guy Ritchie are divorcing after almost eight years of marriage.
“Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after 7 l/2 years of marrige,” Liz Rosenberg said in a statement to The Associated Press. “They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time. A final settlement has not been agreed upon yet.”
18Unfortunate, but I bet they'll be just fine on their own.
19I feel for the children
20aww..that sucks. I liked these two together. c'est la vie.
21That's so sad, they have kids together, I especially feel for David.
22Well, this is a sad development- I also feel for David
23Not very good news....sad for them
24wow. I think this is not THAT big surprise. But I have to admit that I had gotten used to all those false alarms - so this time it is actually true.
Thank god I only have to live my life and not others. So I'm gonna stop gossiping here.
25The press has been on them for a divorce practically since the day they got married. I will believe it when it actually starts happening instead of all these "announcements" and "statements". Seems like there have been a lot of those over the years that have amounted to nothing.
26geriatric sl*t...over Madonna, over her music and the slimey & stink world tour...50 is the new 30 and all but she's a mess with her tacky outfits and gyrating grandma hips lmao
27It's sad. This time it seems like the real deal. They already issued a statement to the AP. I feel for the kids but I am sure the older ones were already preparing for this. Probably David will be affected the most, but hopefully they will remain friends like Madonna and Lourdes dad so that the kids don't feel like they will be pushed back and foward between their parents.
28
This sucks.
29Oh I hope the divorce goes through for them for the Christmas season, that will be a lovely gift for the kids! I agree with those worrying about poor David- especially with all the press out there that Ritchie didn't want to adopt him in the first place.
30badkitty is spot on! madonna couldn't handle being married to someone with as big as ego as hers (sean) so she moved on to someone more understated. now, that hasn't worked cause he's probably been bossed around the entire marriage and he's probably had enough.
she's better on her own...
31WHAT...no wait my real reaction is WHATEVER
32Wow...I feel sad for the kids..
33I know I shouldn't be surprised, but I am. I think it's truly sad for the children.
I wonder if this means Madonna will move back to the states permanently?
34Oh well, it was a good run while it lasted. 7 1/2 years is a long lifespan in Hollywood marriages nowadays.
35so true black velveteen
36I don't remember the last picture I've seen of the two of them where Guy didn't look miserable. I've never been a Madonna fan and I hope Guy can find someone better. Of course I feel bad for their children though. I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.
37She publicly treats him like a child, I'm surprised he stuck around this long.
38Not a surprise especially after Arod. They were faking it for their careers. Waiting for her tour to start and his latest movie to premiere. I'm not a fan any way.
39so sad...
40That's too bad. I feel for her kids.
41finally!
42this makes me sad.
43I agree -- this is sad.
44well we knew he went to a high profile divorce attorney a few months ago, so this is really no surprise. would have thought they would have announced it last friday at 5:00 pm west coast time so interest in the story would have died down over the weekend.
why is it sad? i don't think madonna cavorting all over town with that ball player, whose marriage she helped end, is the greatest thing for her kids to see.
marriage = end of choices in a partner. she doesn't seem to get that. we've seen her more with the ball player lately than her husband.
45I think parents splitting up usually holds some level of sadness for the kids, but if they were unhappy it's probably sadder if they stayed together.
46I hate to be harsh, but now Richie will probably remarry some 20 year old and Madonna will be single for the rest of her life...unless John Mayer steps in of course.
47Yes I'm not sad at all. Now we get the old Madonna back that we haven't had since 1999. They got married for all the wrong reasons. Does this mean she will make up with her brother too.
48I guess they couldn't agree on who was the Bottom
!!! Oh and can she leave her fake
accent with him too.
49Oh well there goes another hollywood marriage
