Angelina Jolie looked beautiful and happy back in New York to stop by The Today Show and chat with Matt Lauer this morning. Angelina was promoting Changeling and spoke again about how it is "horrifying" as a mother to think about anything happening to your children. After seeing Angelina and the kids through Brad's eyes in W Magazine, here's even more about the famous family and their plans to expand. You can watch the full interview after the jump. Here are highlights:
- On adopting again: "Yeah, I have something in mind. You can't even start the process until any new children are six months old, to understand how the new family has settled. [. . .] It's a smart thing . . . to understand when to bring another child in."
- On the twins: "We have so many children that they're not really stunned anymore when kids come home. [. . .] They're all at that great age that they are not threatened. They're independent. They don't need Mommy and Daddy all the time and to be able to enjoy the kids. They play with them, they change their diapers, they call them their babies, and they dress them up and you know, they have fun with them."
- On moving all the time: "The children will probably dictate. We talk about one day, they'll probably want to stay in one place for a very long time, as they start to get certain friends," Jolie says, "So far we've just moved them a lot. They like packing their bags before the next adventure, and like making new friends wherever we go. I think . . . we'd like to maintain that . . . we'd like them to be those kind of adults, where they can find home wherever they are in the world, where they can find friends wherever they are in the world."

wow shes is crazy
1love the interview..she is so beautiful
2she talks about her rationale for adopting so many children in this article:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/19/movies/19harr.html?partner=rssnyt&emc=...
and it doesnt make a whole lot of sense but atleast they put some thought into it.
3No offense, but how many kids before enough is enough? You've got to be able to spend quality time with your kids, each of them...I would think they are at max capacity as it is now...6 kids all under the age of what 7?? Yikes.
4Shes really pretty ..
5And i know a lady that adopted 10 kids .. and that was enough for them .. and now they are all allmost my ages some younger ones to tho .. and its all ok for them they study are happy and i ever heard that they have problems with attitude or something like that . So i guess if she and her husband could manage to rise and keep rising their kids then Angelina and Brad can do that to !
IS SHE INSANE?
6o.k whatever......tired of her....
7She looks beautiful! I love that dress and it looks good on her.
"We have so many children that they're not really stunned anymore when kids come home."
Hehe, I chuckled at that. I grew up in a big, close family so I'm biased in favor of them. I'm glad the kids have each other.
8The woman is CRAZY!!! She just had two kids. It's like she can't never be happy and enjoy the family she already has. Well I always thought she was weird, but whatever, it Brad's problem anyways.
9Jolie says her outlook has changed since claiming she was better off alone years ago.
"I've met the right person, and I'm not going to say anything that's going to embarrass me, but I don't like being without him," Jolie says. "I don't like being alone like I used to be."
10She is so pretty! My MIL has 7 kids..all natural. Personally, I would like one more, hopefully a girl. I can't begin to imagine having more than that.
11she looks gorgeous .
12She looks absolutely gorgeous!!!
It's beautiful seeing how in love she is with her children, as well as Brad!!!
I say if you have the means to adopt, do so. One less child living in an orphanage!!!
13o.k whatever......tired of her....
-----------------------------
14You should be tired of a woman who is dating for publicity instead.
well i'm glad that they have to wait at least 6 months before adopting again. i'm very supportive of what they want to do but come on - they already have soo many kinds -and i think that it might be getting out of hand. how are their current kids adapting to the quick additions? really?
anyway, i guess it's nice that she's getting better with everyting - although i loved the story in Star where they were talking about how she had a tummy tuck and all that. it makes sense right - with how skinny she is already?
15Well, my grandma has 12 children, and my aunt has 7, so I think it's okay as long as they can raise them good..
16She looks beautiful, you people are crazy
17Wow, while I know that much of this interview is probably taken out of context, I don't know what to think of her anymore. I was trying so hard to like her and be objective, but when you read things like this??? While I don't doubt that she loves her children in her own way, it seems that her priorities are out of whack. And it seems pretty obvious that she revels in the attention having all these children brings. I really hope that Brad Pitt is MUCH more grounded than she seems to be.
18lovej2...o.k whatever LOL
19Her kids are all different ages under the age of 8. I'm sorry, but how independent can a 3 or 2 year old be and does she realize that the little ones (not just the twins) DO indeed need their parents majority of the time. Especially in a house that is as large as the one they occasionally live in?
20I THINK this is the last of what I have to say.
I don't think she is a bad person
and it's nice to see a Hollywood celebrity at least make an effort to do good things - especially one who comes from a privileged background. I just think that she was so self-involved and
self-focused prior to her 'St. Angelina' days that she truly believes that the things she has done are somehow unique or a revelutionary - that's the impression I get every time I read her
interviews; a sense of being amazed by herself when the rest of the world has been doing what she does for centuries. The press she gets from it all doesn't help the cause, just adds fuel to
the fire.
21* revolutionary - sorry.
22Blah, blah, blah. We all know she wants 10,000 kids...can she talk about something else please? She seems a little crazy. Most of what she is doing is great, but a lot of other people are doing the same thing and NOT using their children for more media attention.
23Angie is not a master of media manipulation.
24I get the vibe that's she's out to prove something...
Maybe she can try adopting one of the many needy children in her OWN country for once.
25Same interview .Different day.
26She looked gorgeous, didn't make herself look like a fool like a lot of other celebrities when interviewed, spoke intelligently on what she felt we needed to know and she deeply is in love with her family. Who cares about the rest. She isn't obligated to prove anything to us.
27My mother comes from a family of 8 children and they are all okay. Its funny now to hear that 6 is too much while before it was common to have family of at least 7 children.
28she looks beautiful here. and well as far as adopting goes- i'd have to hope they know what they are doing. and i mean i think a kid would rather be in a family with caring parents and a ton of brothers and sisters than an orphanage somewhere. right?
29I have to admit she looks really pretty and I'm glad she changed from all that black this color works for her, here we go with jenn always the fan to bring her up
30My fiance comes from a family of 7 him being the youngest they all turned out great, but at the same time they had mom and dad all the time and stability, hell I would love travel like the pitts but is it really feasable for the kids, maybe I know I couldn't do that to my kids
31Um, okay Lovej2. If you say so. She is THE master of media manipulation. You don't think she has them eating out of the palms of her hands?
It's not the sheer number of children that people question, it's the 6 and possibly a 7th kid in 3-4 years. What is the rush?
32Yeah, I come from a family of 6 children. Spread out over 12 years. BTW, good luck to the Jolie-Pitts when they have 6 children in their teen years all at once.
33I just think that there is no other celebrity like them....And for what it's worth, they are my personal heroes. I am going into infectious disease epidemiology, and I plan to practice in sub-Sahara, where they need me the most. I have always wanted to adopt from another country, preferably Africa, and she just seems to be living my dreams right now. Coming from a family deeply rooted in Peace Corps traditions, I think that these people are just amazing. They can afford it, let them do good in the world! What a super beautiful, multi-cultural family! How could anyone think less of them?
34Yeah, I think when kids have the age of going to school (like Maddox) its better to stay in one place and do the travels during breaks.
35Its great that the family stay together while being able to see the world. But its also important, IMO, to develops relationships outside your family, having friends etc. It seems difficult to do that while moving so frequently in different places.
She can do whatever she wants with her life.
Can you stop judging her?
You like to see a woman who goes to Mexico to show her body or change a man every time to be on the tabloids.
36You don't like Angie because you don't like a woman who has substance.
Some people are too irrational to even communicate with.
37i love her. i watched this interview, and i love her so much more. at least she has the means and resources to take care of that many children. more power to her.
38Love2j wtf are you talking about plenty of my family is from Mexico and no one goes back to show their body or change a man
39I think she's amazing! So beautiful!!
40Microsoft + Angelina Jolie + Pro Bono Lawyers = KIND
High-tech giant Microsoft and big screen star Angelina Jolie are joining forces with leading law firms and corporate law departments on Friday to announce the formation of Kids in Need of Defense, an organization dedicated to providing legal counsel to unaccompanied immigrant and refugee children in the United States. Microsoft General Counsel Brad Smith will hold a Washington luncheon to launch the effort. The titillating "Tomb Rader" star is not on the guest list for the event.
Key invitees include Ronald Schechter (not Jolie), a senior partner at Arnold & Porter, and Mauricio Vivero (not Jolie), executive director of Ayuda, a D.C. based group that protects the legal rights of low-income immigrants in the metropolitan region. KIND's pro bono network of attorneys will serve children in areas of the country where the need is greatest, including Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, and the northeast corridor. In Washington state, Microsoft already spearheads Advocates for Immigrant Justice, a coalition of law firms, corporations and NGOs that offer pro bono help.
Others involved in KIND include Covington & Burling, Holland & Knight, Perkins Coie, Latham & Watkins, Sidley Austin, Morrison & Foerster, News Corp., and many more.
417 kids!!!
42she looks gorgeous
43Oh please! She lets the kids dictate? Great idea, because we ALL know that kids always know exactly what's best for them.
44What a lovely dress!! I really need to see a closer look at what she is wearing on her left wrist since NOLA.
45This is just the same interview she always gives but in a different
46place. Maybe I am wrong but she always comes off sounding like
she is using the kids because she thinks they will be be hit.
It's certainly for publicity and a little boring. She needs to
come up with a different angle. This has been going on for what,
about three years.

Didn't Lauer ask her a direct question about adopting? I wonder why you all think this is just Angie when Brad told Charlie Rose last year "between 7 and 9". Brad has also gone on record numerous times saying her doesn't want o be so old as a Dad that he can't play with his kids. I think they will adopt again once or twice from Africa or Haiti and then have another bio baby.
47Ok someone should put a stop to this madness... There should be a child limit law. A mother and father can only devote so much time to there children, especially on top of work. Every child needs there indiviual time. This is just very sad. I guess when you have the money to hire all the help in the world, then you really dont care. She thinks shes helping these kids but shes turing her family into a damn circus....
48My grandmother was one of 12 and I know quite a few families with 6+ children (including twins). Why is everyone judging them for wanting a big family?
I honestly don't stick up for celebs all too often, but I think these random comments about 'sensitivy chips' and other nonsense is so ridiculous.
