Taking a break from her life as an actress, Dakota Fanning looked like any other teenager performing with her cheerleading squad at her high school football game on Saturday. As a new student at Campbell Hall, Dakota seems to be fitting right in after years of being home schooled. The 14-year-old movie star had her own cheering section including her sister Elle and their mom. While it looks like she's the star of the squad as the flyer, her weekend probably included one highlight that her teammates' didn't — her new movie The Secret Life of Bees opened at No. 3.

Wow, I can't believe how much Dakota's grown. Good to see her being a normal teenager, and at the same time working as an actress. Glad she hasn't gotten into the Hollywood crowd, and if she does she seems smart enough not to make any bad decisions.
i think that it's going to be interesting to see her as a regular high school student since she's always been on movie sets working with the BIGGEST names out there. i wonder how she's going to adjust and if she's going to stop making movies for a while to go to school. i think that school is a great thing and something that actors shouldn't pass up on, but i wonder what that means to their careers when they do that. i know that people like natalie portman took time to go to an ivy league school and her career is as booming as ever...
She looks so much older!
I think it's AWESOME that she's getting to do normal things. And it's not surprising either that they're putting HER in as the flyer, girl is SUPER tiny! LOL
I think for normalcy, all child actors ought to take a 4 year break to experience normal high school, because whether public or private, High School is an experience that forms you!
These pictures are so cute! It is a little creepy though that a paparazzo is taking pics of her cheering. I hope they don't bother her too much. She's too young to have to deal with all of that.
shes so adorable
how nice
how refreshingly normal for a child star. this is why she'll end up having a lasting career and not being tabloid trash!
I wonder how they treat her? She seemed like such an easy going happy child. Boy is she grown now! YAY for doing regular things!
She is a cutie and seems grounded
Also was it just me? or did she look like Hayden?
so looks so different that i would never had known that was her. it's nice that she gets to enjoy some age appropriate activities and she looks happy. i sure hope she has an more gentle path than most teen stars.
This is refreshing to see. I'm glad she's doing normal teenage things
asarwan - My thoughts exactly. At first glance, i thought it was hayden filming a scene for Heroes...
I love her...
Good for Dakota! cheerleading...ah, good times, good stuff.
now, that's cool...I am so glad this kid is in real high school and participating in activities...it's so important and you can't ever get the high school experience back...good thing she has parent's that are attempting to have a balanced child..and yes, she's growing up
When I saw her on Ellen I was like, "What the?! That's Dakota? She's grown a lot!" I love it that she's still so down-to-earth and just plain likable.
Love her! A terrific actress.
Wow paps at her school..
These pictures are so great!!! She looks like such a normal everyday teen!!! Go Dakota
Yeah Tidal. I didn't understand. I thought she was like 8 or something. But she looks happy.
Whoa..! I agree with everyone else that thinks she's Hayden!
But aside from that, it's good to know that she's attempting a normal teenage life and NOT partying or drinking everynight. That's the way it should be!
The real question should be "Who is the creepy Pap stalking a 14-year-old at school??"
That great for her to have a regular high school experience. I wouldn't be surprised if she took off time for college too.
Love her! She's so normal.
Those photo are creepy. Paparazzi taking photos of a 14 y-o at school!
Yeah, paparazzis should back off.
Ahhh! Cuteness overload!!!
go dakota go!!
it might not have been a pap. it might have been a parent of another student or a spectator who knew who she was and sold the photos.
but good on her for being normal. and she's cute, still, too...
I like her alot, but at my high school I'm one of those people that hate the cheerleaders.
Wow! This is so refreshing. She looks great and most importantly, she's very humble. She can give Miley Cyrus a run for her money in the talent department.
On another note, M-K and Ashley went to Campbell Hall. They're our rival school. LOL! I went to Harvard Westlake.
Even if it was another parent I think these pics are completely inappropriate. This girl is trying to do normal things and they end up on gossip sites? I'm sad that Pop even posted them
It's nice to see her being a "normal" kid, but I think it's innappropriate that these pictures were posted. Schools should be off-limits to paparazzi.
asarwan, i also thought that this was Hayden Panettiere at first glance.
this is so nice and refreshing to see
actually RobinFabulous, you're totally right, this is the only childhood she'll ever have and it should not be for our consumption
This is cool. I saw her new movie this weekend and really liked it!
megIn - right description - "refreshing"... nice to see that she's leading a "normal" a life a young hollywood star can get. Hope she continues on the right road.
