UPDATE: Paris Hilton has been sentenced to 45 days in Jail. She will start serving her sentence on June 5. Wow.
We told you yesterday that prosecutors are trying to get Paris thrown in jail for 45 days for violating her probation twice. Her court hearing is today, and she definitely didn't kick it off on a good note - she showed up over ten minutes late. We can't imagine the judge is going to look favorably on Paris' tardiness, even with her super serious face and business attire. It's also hard to imagine her trading in her short skirts and heels for an orange jumpsuit, but stay tuned for details!

She's just digging herself in deeper and deeper. She'll never learn!
4Wow, I actually feel really bad for her, I've never seen her look so sad. It's been said elsewhere by someone else, this was her first offense and jailtime is -not- normal for the first DUI. Normally in California first time offenders will get a license suspension, a fine, possibly probation, and community service. They decided to make an 'example' of her and I personally don't think it's fair. Not even the average everyday person would be afraid of over a month in jail with the first offense.
5she needs to go to jail, or shes never going to get the severity of any of it. if she doesnt, its just going to be another joke to her.
6I feel bad for her , court is never a fun thing to go to.. and if anyone wants to say to me omg you had a dui ,,,no I went to family court, but it can be scary as well..
7By the somber look on her face, I'd say she understands the severity of it. Not to mention we haven't heard anything else that could be construed as reckless since this incident happened.
8Court isn't fun even for something silly. I once had to go because of overdue library books! It was super embarrassing.
9God that would be fantastic if went to jail but I highly doubt it.
10love the outfit.
11SHE WAS JUST SENTENCE TO SERVE 45 DAY IN JAIL. THERE IS A GOD!!!!!
12I know its mean, but I don't feel sorry for her. She has the world at her disposal, and just because she has money and is a celebrity, she thinks she can get away with things. She really has to learn to be humble and to be treated like everyone else. She should really go to jail, for god sakes we all know she drunk drives, does drugs and all sorts of illegal things.
13speaking as someone who WAS hit by a drunk driver, I say it should HAVE been longer. But than I am sure she will do it again, maybe with jail time she will remember that she could have killed someone.
14So I feel so pity for her. If you think it wasnt too drunk than maybe you should visit a rehab of people recovering and like myself trying to relearn to walk again
That is sad to hear, but maybe it is the best thing for her. Reality checks are a great thing, even for celebs!
15OMG I just saw it on E. I can't believe it, that just totally made my day.
16no pity*
17I think she looks really good dressing like that. She should stick with it.. as for jail time.. i think she needs to be put in jail.. she needs to learn her lesson.
18I am LOVING this.
19GOOD! I am glad she is not getting to walk away without punishment. If you drink and drive you deserve to do the time. I think it is only fair when she could have killed someone on the road.
20HAHAHAHAHAH!!!
21She deserves it. She has always behaved as though she could get away with anything, and like she didn't have to follow anyone's rules. I am so glad that she is going to learn that her money doesn't put her above the law!
22DREWSFAN, they did do all of that for her DUI. She was on probation and broke it not once but TWICE. How can you feel bad for her? Then after she breaks her probation she shows for court 20 minutes late??? Come on! She deserves everything she gets, and I hope it does teach people, especially the famous that there are consequences to their actions.
23HA HA! YES!!!
24
:)
25unbelievable!

)
27i dont feel sorry for her, she could have killed someone driving under the influence, plus she'll probably only serve a few days anyway, as she'll most likely appeal and with good behaviour and all that.

tsk... tsk.. tsk... i told ya!... if i were her i would make a reality show out of this, she's good at doing these kind of shows anyway. Better yet buy the judge off... nyahahaha! kidding..
29She deserves her punishment. She was treated no differently than ordinary people, as it should be.
The girl got a DUI, and violated her probation twice. I'm glad we're sending the message that this is not ok.

31Man, I feel really bad for her! That sucks that she's going through this. I know that she did this to herself, but that doesn't make it hurt any less. The fact of the matter is that she didn't hurt or kill anyone. I know she could have, but who hasn't driven home with 1 or 2 drinks in their system? I LOVE YOU PARIS!!!
"You smell like a baby prostitute."
32freaking awesome.
33Wow I am shocked... I actually did a *gasp* when I say this! Praise the lord! Even though 45 days is practically nothing ... jail time is much deserved. In the cliche words of JT what goes around comes around, you skkkkkkank.
34I was just checking to see if anyone has updated cause I saw it on E.
35I can't believe people feel sorry for this girl.....she deserves this. No, she didn't hurt or kill anyone THIS time...but what if she would have? And I for one, have never driven home with "1 or 2 drinks" in my system. It's called being an adult and respecting the lives of others on the road!!!! Boo hoo Paris! blah lol
36Karma's a b*tch.
37t_hive, that is the exact thinking of why people do continue to drive drunk. The laws are not harsh enough. I was hit by a drunk driver, the driver died, and the person who was driving the car I was in had to relearn to talk and walk again. The drunk driver had 3 other DUI's but kept getting slaps on the wrists because he didn't hurt someone. And besides that it is the point that she broke her probation. She pretty much did get away with a slap on the wrist, and then deliberately broke her punishment. Since when do you have to kill someone or hurt someone to be punished. Sorry for my rant, but the fact that people say this is too harsh is driving me nuts.
38i'll believe it when i see it. it would be fitting though
39well i don't wish jail upon anyone (well - maybe some people). sucks for her. i don't like paris, but i do kinda feel sorry for her. but i do think she kinda deserves it, cause she gets away with so many things.
drewsfan, i don't think she's going to jail for a dui. cause yeah, in california we don't usually go to jail on the first offense for dui's. but what she's going to jail for is for violating her probation. she's been driving with a suspended license. who doesn't know that when you get a dui, you get your license suspended? um, yeah, paris claims she doesn't know that. interesting though, cause although, i never seen the simple life, i remember watching her and nicole give an interview about it for when they were driving across america or something like that and she was saying how she has to be the one driving since nicole got her license suspended because of her dui. so shouldn't she have known that dui = suspended license? or is that asking to much of her. it's not like she couldn't afford a driver.
and it's about time she's going to be held accountable for something. how many times have we seen videos of her leaving a club drunk, getting pulled over, and getting away with it? and then there was that time that there was a video tape of her visibly stealing her home made porno from a news kiosk. and yet prosecutors didn't want to bring any charges.
so yeah, on the one hand i feel bad for her, cause i wouldn't want to go to jail. but then it's time that she be treated like everyone else.
40Karma, everyone. Don't laugh at her misfortune; I feel sorry for her. She's a product of her environment. I blame the parents. A life a privilege doesn't always spell intelligence. She was raised with so much, how could she be so screwed up?
41Ha ha ha ha ha. Eat it, Paris.
42Let this be a lesson to all other celebrities... cause not even Paris Hilton gets away with it!
43Wow. Well I'm shocked.
44Sorry Paris, but you asked for it. Besides the fact you were driving on a suspended license, you LIED that you did not have any knowledge about your license being suspended, yet you signed papers stating otherwise. You failed to enroll in court mandated alcohol classes. Perhaps if you would have taken the initiative of telling the truth, avoiding the clubs, and signing up for the class, your sentence would have been reduced.
Kudos to the judge for not giving her any special privileges, such as a "upscale jail" or work release!
45Usually, I wouldn't say stuff like this about someone going to jail but.......
Ha ha!
46I think the judgment was fair, maybe after 45 days in jail she'll learn to appreciate her life
47Misfortune my ass!!!
48SHOCKING!!! I never thought she actually would have to go to jail!!!
And just because your parents spoiled you, doesn't mean that it is ok to break the law...multiple times.
She isn't just going to jail for a DUI, it is because she violated her probation by driving AND she was driving with her lights off.
49Bam! Babbales is tellin' it like it is!
