I guess the millions of dollars and weeks of promotional gigs paid off. Not only did Spider-man 3 come in first at the box office this weekend, but it was the biggest opening weekend of all time. Coming in at an estimated $148 million, it knocked Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest out of the top spot. It'll be interesting to see what happens when the new Pirates and Shrek 3 come out in a few weeks, but for now it's Spidey's time! Methinks the studio is frantically scrambling to get Tobey, Kirsten and Sam Raimi signed on for a few more of these...

I saw Spiderman and I have to say that it was a bit boring and too long. I love Pirates way better. The only upside to spiderman 3 is James Franco. He smiles in every shot.
1it looks stupid,i`m not even going to bother watchin it...pirates of the caribbean is way better !~Aint nobody love you like i love you..~
2Topher`s cute.

3I saw it and really enjoyed it. I think they tried to stuff too much into it, but overall I left very happy. I loved the emo Peter scenes! I'm a huge fan of Pirates also but I thought Pirates 2 was an incredible let down from the first movie, and left the theater totally bummed out. I hope they fix that for the 3rd installment.
4The whole storyline is that Spiderman turns arrogant when he gets in to the black suit. End of story. And what really sucks is that this movie was three hours long.
5People actually laughed during the dramatic scenes. I really wouldn't recommend this unless you were a HUGE fan of the other two and want to finish the series in the theatre.
6LMAO 3hrs?!
7~Aint nobody love you like i love you..~
I hope Pirates and Shrek 3 knock it out of the park!
8There were a couple of things going on in this movie, it wasn't all just about the black suit. It's one of those movies you have to go see for yourself and not listen to critics.
9You all know Pirates of the carribean, Transformers, Shrek and possibly Live Feree otr die Hard are gonna make this look like a dud. POTC is out in 2 weeks we'll see then.
10I guess you could say I wasn't upset when I left the theatre but I wasn't excited either, it was a very good movie but there was just way too much going on and made it hard for you to care about all these new people...James Franco though...WOW! I look forward to all the other big ones coming out later this month and throughout the year...yay for movies!
11im going to see it in imax. i am really looking forward to pirates more!!! MAY 25th here i come!
12It wasn't three hours. We got in at 7:30 and got out around 10:00, and that was with about 15-20 minutes of previews. So a little over two hours I would say.
Overall I have mixed feelings about the movie. I'm not much of a critic of anything, and I rarely have anything bad to say about any movies I see, but it had it's ups and downs. I wouldn't say the best out of the three but it wasn't bad. I'm definitely more excited for Shrek and Pirates.
13yeah! cant w8 till shrek3 and POTC !

14I second you there Cinnamon Girl. Am I the only who thinks the special effects for Spiderman are lame as hell. They just look so unbelieveable.
15I didn't like it. It was long and the dramatic parts were waaaay over the top. I was one of the ones laughing in all the wrong places. Kirsten was actually pretty good in it though, and I'm not usually a fan.

17Is butter a carb?
i cried lol
18it was awful.
AWFUL.
I'm a HUGE spiderman comic fan and I was utterly disappointed.
19wont even bother watching it...
20watched it, and i have to say.... LOOOOOOVVVEEEEE IIIITTTTTT!!!!
what a great movie!!!
21Bryce still looks preggo.
22What an embarrassing movie to come out with after the second one was so good. It's wasn't bad in the sense of other comic movies like X3 or Fantastic Four but it was not a good movie either. Suffered from Too Much Syndrome. And what was up with Emo-Spidey, the Saturday Night Fever-esque scene, and was the jazz club scene meant to be a serious addition to the film? Or the random scene with the giant American flag? Wished Venom was in it for more than 5 minutes too.
23I didn't like it that much either. It kept my kids entertained - that's about all I can say.
24I watched it...it was MEH!..nothing special but they boys in my life really wanted to see it and they liked it.
this "record" won't last...wait till pirates or shrek breaks it!
25This movie wasn't worth the hype. Bad acting, numerous "wtf" moments, plot holes and endless bickering between Peter and MJ. The final battle scene really annoyed me. It's hard to explain without spoiling it.
26I still haven't watched it.
27I'm seeing this on Thursday. I'm hoping I can follow it, since i haven't actually seen the first 2.
28There are so many great movies coming out this early summer that it's hard NOT to go and see them all.
29SNOOZE!
