I guess the millions of dollars and weeks of promotional gigs [0] paid off. Not only did Spider-man 3 come in first at the box office this weekend, but it was the biggest opening weekend of all time. [1] Coming in at an estimated $148 million, it knocked Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest out of the top spot. It'll be interesting to see what happens when the new Pirates and Shrek 3 [1] come out in a few weeks, but for now it's Spidey's time! Methinks the studio is frantically scrambling to get Tobey, Kirsten and Sam Raimi signed on for a few more of these...
