Unless one of my parents were abusive, I couldn't imagine ever turning my backs on them. It could be worse - my husband's father wants nothing to do with him or BIL just because he's still upset over a divorce that happened 15 years ago & they weren't responsible for. Since they lived with their mother, he wanted nothing to do with them or her. Luckily, they have a great step-father who they look up to as a dad. At least her dad DOES want to rebuild their relationship.

2nd weird how Brad is walking so far in front of her. I can not decide if he is just hurrying to get the car for her, running interference for her or what!

How can she preach about peace and love in the world when she can't even love her own father. My grandpa put his famliy through hell9he was physially abusive as well as a cheater) but my father never stopped loving him. If Angie can't love her own flesh and blood she can't truly love anyone else that's the leson I've learned in life. And Brad knows how to pick them hey first Ja and her mom and now ang and her dad next won't be on speaking terms with her family.

i love angelina but everytime i hear about her dad i really really cant stomach looking at her. im daddy's girl and could never do that to either parent. if they cheat than it wasnt my fault as their child and it is also none of my business, i am not either of the two in the marriage. it just makes me sad that she can be soooo dang kind to ppl she doesnt know but wont give her dad another chance.

You know what? I have to say good for her. I think it takes a lot of guts to stand up to your parents. Speaking from someone who comes from a similarly screwed-up father/daughter relationship, I think it's good that she finally faced the fact that their relationship is not going to ever be genuinely good. It seems that she's tried to mend things in the past, but then he speaks up saying crap about her to the media. It seems to me like he uses her to get publicity.

Having said that, she looks sickly thin these days.

Everybody feels differently and they're entitled to their own feelings. He shouldn't have opened his big mouth. Some people do not forgive and that's their prerogative.

Has anyone seen "unforgiven" i can see angie with a gun in her hand pointed at her dad just going go ahead make my day lol. But honestly it takes two to tango not three. Ang was not there in the marriage and I rather think this whole he said she said was just an excuse to let the bitterness, of her father leaving, out.

Just because someone is a "blood" relative, does not mean that they necessarily deserve more love and respect from you than other people in this world. Jon Voight is a wealthy, famous man who has made tons of great movies and seems to think he can basically do and say what he wants to--even about his own daughter. It sounds like he made her mother suffer dearly because HE was selfish, and as a result made his kids suffer, too. Why on earth should she compromise her own sanity and peace to try to make things work with him? He's an actor. I don't buy all of his crap about loving her. If he really loved her so much, he wouldn't talk to the media about her personal life, he wouldn't have put his own family through drama.
I know where she's coming from. You get to a point where you forgive, but you have to put distance between yourself and the pain.

It does take alot to stand up to your folks. If she genuinly doesn't want a realtionship w/ her dad, well, theres nothing we can say or do to make her change her mind...that being said...I can't imagine not talking to my dad. I'm a daddy's girl too PAM!

I don't think less of her because of this...I like her really. But she just looks and I repeat looks because I have no way of knowing, but she looks like she thinks she the queen of the world or something. She isn't all that. Since she's been with Brad she's got more press than ever before. His body language around her scares me. Like he's afraid of screwing up or something.

I agree with you merry. I had a lot of problems with my father and there's a lot of things that i still can't forgive. I love him, he's my father, I respect him, but he's not right everytime.
