Kate Winslet hailed a cab in NYC yesterday before this morning when she had to fight rumors that her gorgeous spread in Vanity Fair was airbrushed. Her rep claims Kate is "furious" and that her body is in "terrific shape." This isn't the first time Kate has had issues with magazines altering her body, though last time the situation was reversed. What do you think — should celebrities just stop responding to airbrush rumors?

Yes, people get airbrushed all the time. Get over it.
1C'mon - we all know they're airbrushed - let's not fake the funk.
2who the feck shes kidding
3I didn't they think that she looked that airbrushed...at least not more than normal.
4She was completely photoshopped.Come on.
5Love her but it is so obvious that those pics were airbrushed.
6Kate's body is normal, not too thin not too fat. She is beautiful. She is the same age as Kate Moss (give or take 2 years), can see the difference? Anyway she stands up on the body issues which is great!
7I think Kate looks so much fresher than Kate. Much Much fresher even when she smokes quite a lot. It's because she is drug free!
8If she looked 200 pounds in person I would think, yah, photoshop central. But she does look skinnier than she has been in the past.
She does have a banging body, remember Titanic. I loved her fuller figure. Not calling her fat! You just couldnt see bones.
9Of course it's airbrushed, and I'm glad she said it, too! It's 100% normal to aribrush (remember the "scandal" when they DIDN'T airbrush Sarah Palin?) but I'm happy that she admitted it. That way, those of us who see her as a role model can get a better idea of reality. Then again, people....let's look at this pic of her- her body is GORGEOUS!!!!! And excuse me, her thighs aren't even touching. If that's FAT!?!?!??!
10like her.
time to give her oscar too. she`s been robbed of some.
11it depends what they are accusing of being airbrushed. everyone knows the skin and everything is airbrushed- that's why all celebs have "perfect" skin. of course we have also seen airbrushing that literally takes away parts of people's bodies- remember the Faith Hill thing? so if she is saying no that is her body and that is the size of her body, that is one thing. i don't think she is denying the normal smooth everything out airbrushing. i think she is combatting that they made her thin by airbrushing
12Yep that is what she is trying to do megn1022, she has said it before that they make her legs look so thin and her legs are normal but not thin. Anyway she is beautiful! I really do think if I see her on the street I would think that girl is cute.
13good for her, who ever thought air brushing was a good idea is a twit, its made people feel like sh*t about themselves and striving to be some thing no one can be...i hope they do away with photoshop, it would be interesting to see what celebs really look like....
14She's fraking gorgeous! She should stand up for herself.
15It's been part of the magazine biz for decades. It "looks" better to "fix" a photo of a model/celebrity BEFORE the magazines goes to print. Erase blemishes, moles, tattoos, scars; remove cellulite from thighs, arms, etc. All done thanks to computer software. Then the editor sees the final shots & gives the okay.
Celebrities know this, the viewing public (for the most part) know this... it's part of the biz.
16i think that it's just like the awful rumors that you see in tabloids. you can't dignify everything with a response or you're going to make yourself crazy. we all know that kate takes AMAZING care of herself and the same goes for a lot of others - and if people want to talk then let them talk.
17No one has perfect skin. No one. And I hate to say this, but look at her hips in this picture and then in the picture of her in a dress. Their not the same hips. I don't think that is wrong. i think that is a fact in magazines.
18Yes. Magazine are supposed to make you look good. Its when they make you look bad you should complain.
1995% of them are airbrushed/photoshopped and everything else that they can get because they are not handsome or beautiful at all. That's one of the reasons why celebrities hate the paparazzi these days, because they catch them looking how they truly look every day. which is NOT nice looking at all.
YES, the paps are annoying but they do show how the celebrities have terrible imperfections, that the celebrities will verbally claim to the public that they DON'T have.
20Oh, and it does make them look even worse when the magazines go too far taking to much off their bodies here and there, then it's not only horrible but all around laughable because everyone can clearly see the mishap in the photo.
21Kate is an actress above all ... What's the matter if her boddy is a bit airbrushed ? She is not paid for her boddy. She is not a top model, and she is great like this !
22e don't care about aircrush ! You like the pics? Then take it like this and be quiet... People want beauty, that's what they are given !
She's complaining again?? Why does she continue to pose for those magazines? I find her complaint disingenuous. She takes offense, and then poses for them again. Clearly, her words are empty.
23I adore her. She should stand up for herself b/c she has a beautiful body. We all know photos in magazines are airbrushed, so to repeat an above poster, we should only complain if they make us look bad.
24Who are we kidding? Nearly every page in nearly every magazine is airbrushed. We want to see gorgeous pictures and stunning fashion. We don't want to see the imperfections (excpet for the "just like us!" type of articles). Of course Kate's pictures were airbrushed. But who cares - they are still beautiful. And so are so many others we gawk at! The airbrush issue really isn't one at all.
25C'mon give me a break, Kate is a real woman with a real beauty.
26She doesnt look like a victoria secret top model, and she dont looks like she wants to, and still she is one of the most beautiful woman in this world.
The point is that any actress or model who pose for this mags dont have control if they gonna do something with these pics, I dont care if her pics in Vanity Fair is airbrush or not, look at this pic of her in the street...she still looks gorgeous.
I think that if a celebrity is proud of her body, they shouldn't do something like airbrushing to make it look "better".
27I guess I'm kind of split on this-they should stop responding because we all know they get at least a little help to look good..but if a claim truly offends you or you really didn't get that retouched, then yes stand up for your body. Kate has a nice one so I'm glad she is defending it.
28It's VANITY fair... what does she expect? Good for her for saying "you b*tches airbrushed me!" though.
29Aren't they all airbrushed? I'd look gorgeous in all of my pictures too if touch ups were done 1st. And really? NO ONE in Hollywood has stretchmarks anywhere after having children? I'm moving there!!
30WHAT?! Of course they are airbrushed! All magazine photos are airbrushed! They would look so ordinary if they weren't..

31Thank you for that link, hotinpink! That is really interesting to see how artificial even the lighting is.
32I actually wish they wouldn't airbrush them, so we could see how normal all celebs are. I think no one would be anorexic, no one would want plastic surgery, etc.
33Every photo that goes into a magazine is airbrushed at some point.
34I agree Libra, I'm so sick of magazines making people look perfect. God forbid anyone have a physical flaw. Maybe the rest of us would feel a tiny bit better about ourselves if they didn't do this.
35I adore Kate but no one is going to believe those pics haven't been airbrushed.
