Hmmmm dun like it so much. I find the song to be only so so and the video quite boring. The video looks like something that has already been done by tons of other rock bands.

But it is only his first vid. I am sure better ones are to come.

David Cook did pay his dues. He was a working musician and put out a great indie record and was working on his second before he landed his first major label disc. Can't stand it when people pre-judge an artist without giving their original work a listen. Anyway, I like this tune and the video has some nice moments, but it's the only song on the record he didn't write and I don't think it's going to define his career. I'm waiting for the CD to drop.

David Cook worked very hard as an indie artist when he lived here in Tulsa. He worked with the Midwest Kings and as solo artist. He was/is a very respected rock artist in this area. He was a bar tender at a couple of bars in the area and is a very nice guy. By no means did he not pay his dues. It's fine to not like his music but it's ridiculous to assume he didn't work hard to get what success he has.

I love David Cook!! Anything he does is amazing to me. The song is AMAZING!! The video? Whatever...he's in it..good enough for me!!!

Ugh - just b/c D.C. won American Idol, don't assume it was easy for him. Anyone who doubts that David deserved to win, go take a listen to Analog Heart - one of David's indie albums (he also did a few with a band, although I forget their name right now). That album is awesome, and if his new album is anything like that, I cannot wait!!! Team Cook!!

The song is meh, the video has been done before - I just don't like David Cook, period. He looks like an arrogant person and his eyes creep me out. To be fair, I didn't like anyone from Idol last season

californiagirl, you base your opinion on the fact that he LOOKS like an arrogant person and his EYES are creepy?! Although I have only met him 3 times, he seems pretty sincere and very nice and genuine. As crystalvillage said, he certainly paid his dues since he was a teenager and whatever success he is having now is totally deserved. The video is pretty good, but as teresat said, he's in it~good enough!!

I really could care less for the story in this video. It was cute, but didn't really go with the lyrics. I really would've loved for it to just be a performance video. David puts so much passion into what he does. Just in this video, you can see how much he put himself into the song with his body movements.
I agree with you AC, it is stupid to base your opinion on looks. He has beautiful eyes, and he is not arrogant in the slightest. Analog Heart is an amazing album.
And, adirtyspoon, he is not a "wannabe", he is a rocker. He has been since he was in his first band during high school. I think David is a very fine musician with a lot of talent and a lot of heart.
