Harvey Weinstein hosted an Election Night Party at Public House in NYC yesterday as everyone got together to watch Barack Obama elected President. James Franco beamed and hugged everyone around him. Jessica Alba posed with Taylor Momsen, who's not old enough to vote but still got in on the excitement. Jessica said of the election, "I think we all have to start to see the change we are waiting for. We need more people that think like him . . . that are, I don't know, thoughtful?" As for Obama's first order of business, "Helping Americans understand that you are part of the world and can't isolate yourself so much." Overall, the mood was one of joy as people cheered out of their windows and cars in celebration.

5James Franco always looks high to me. Which can be a good thing
6Yay!!
Franco and Alba were co-stars in "Never Been Kissed"!!
7ugh! no more celebrities associated with the election! i can't handle it. they don't influence us and they don't make us think about things that are different - they are just celebs who have time to campaign for people. jessica annoys me!
8The overseas ballots of our troops are pro-McCain, the Christian community are in silent mourning,I got a call from my brother in SF with his conference very alarmed with the kind of people he saw partying and celebrating, I got a call from a missionary in China asking what has happened to America and the world? I have no answers. To see the celebrities I have no respect for act smug and celebrating this victory is so visually disturbing and brings no comfort to many Americans. Im officially scared and sad. God save America and either we have another 9/11 or some horrible natural disaster because of sin.
9because of sin
10once a week i fall more and more in love with james franco...usually after i watch pineapple express =]
11bluecrabbs: You, my friend, are so lost. May your Bible keep you warm at night.
12James makes me melt.
Jessica Alba just doesn't look good anymore at all. She looks haggard and old.
13And swollen ^^
14Bluecrabbs- your comment is disturbing. To suggest 9/11 was God's punishment for sinners is unbelievable. My God is loving and gave us free will, the power to think and act for ourselves. The tragedy that occurred on September 11th was orchestrated by awful men, driven by evil. You know, the OPPOSITE of God and good.
15I voted for Obama for the lesser of 2 evils but I know things will not entirely change for the U.S. and the world. Hollywood should be careful because of the banning of Prop.#8 it shows they are the very minority of Calif. Now I regret my vote for Obama. These stars bugs the hell of me when they act like this election happened because of them and the Kenyans, black stars play the race card and chant The White is for them or they are invading the White House. Ive been to election forums and the minorities hate it and Obama is just opening the wounds deeper. Im also for equal rights not special rights. What's worst Jesse Jackson,Sharpton,Wright and Obama's supporters whoring up at their churches and bragging whining about their race again. This idiots and the media are just diving the nation and encouraging the skinheads out there.
16Aw, James...sweetie!
17God is merciful but also believes in justice. He allows tragedies that we cant grasp. Ever so sadly many good people suffer because following God does not mean no tears and trials but so much more.
18And yes many good innocent people die because of the world's sinning.
He said he will come like a thief in the night so we all need to be ready at all times. What we are seeing in America and the world are signs of the times.
#8, wtf? It's an election party, they're not advertising or asking you to vote for anything.
19Bluecrabbs - I voted for McCain not just because I'm republican, but because Obama scares me. He scares me because I fundamentally disagree with his tax plan, his defense plan and his spending package, not because he's a sinner (because really, aren't we all???) Your comments are not only horrific, but so incredibly disrespectful to the people who died on 9/11 and to their friends and families. I live in DC and saw first hand that day what a tragedy it was and that wasn't God's will, that was man's free will. Obviously we are all entitled to our own opinion, but the thought that a posting about celebrities celebrating could insight such hatred on your part is disturbing.
20Jessica Alba is a f*cking moron
21Just glad it's over so the celebs will STFU.
The President is just one man. He can only serve 8 years. If we don't like what he does (ala Bush) then we simply vote someone in that will change what he screwed up (ala Bush). The Constitution is pretty clear about many things so within that framework I doubt very seriously things are going to change too drastically. Luckily we had brilliant people when it counted (The Founding Fathers) and do not have to rely on idiots and morons like Bush, Pelosi, Reid, et. al. to craft such a document. Thankfully the founders worked for the good of the country (and weren't career politicians) unlike the 535 self serving bureaucrats who only seek to be re-elected. I figure we'll only get a good 20 months out of Obama before he starts to campaign again so hopefully he'll keep his promises (unlikely) and move this country forward soon.
I found it profoundly interesting that the exit polls indicated that 60% of the voters figured a tax increase would affect them in the next four years, DESPITE both candidates categorically stating that taxes would not go up (except for Obama's high income redistribution plan). The American people aren't stupid (usually). They know when they are being lied to.
22well said jclarev! thank you for reasonably representing your party
23Jessica Alba looks much better with lighter hair, James looks...tired! And Gina Gershon looks stunning!
24Excitement alright but Wall Street and the Economy took a plunge with Obama's victory with investors losing confidence on this presidency. The logo of Obama and his people seems to be about race than change.
25I knew the crazies would come out. Racists next.
26Bluecrabbs if you are christian you should be spreading positivity and light....not wishing bad things on your own countrymen.
Clearly you have no family or friends who were directly affected by 9-11 because if you did..you would never wish that pain and suffering on your worst enemy.Far enough your own neighbours and fellow Americans.
27I like Jessica, she looks very sweet in those pictures. And James is hot!
28Taylor Momsen needs to learn how to stand up straight. Even on Gossip Girl on Monday she looked all hunched over.
