After taking a nice hiatus from filming since working on Vicky Cristina Barcelona last year, Javier Bardem was finally back on the set of Biutiful in Barcelona yesterday. Javier will be back to his Spanish-speaking roots, playing a father trying to put his life back together after a failed love affair. We're still a little disappointed that we won't get to see Javier back on the big screen with Penelope in Nine, but a sweet story with a gorgeous Spanish backdrop won't draw any complaints from us.

i wish that i spoke/understood spanish because i think that sometimes we miss something when you have to watch a movie that's being translated. it's kind of how people must feel outside of the US. it's a shame that he walked away from Nine - but it's all for his career i'm sure.
