i don't know if i would be able to take the role seriously if beyonce was playing WW. she could do an ok job but i still don't think that it's the best thing for her.

Umm..I have nothing against Africans, African Americans, or "black" people, but I think that since Wonder Woman was white, a great, light skinned actress who LOOKS like Wonder Woman should play her. I really hate it when people don't try to get actors/actresses who look like the people they are portraying. I felt the same way about La Bamba last night. Lou Diamond Phillips does not look like Ritchie Valens and the guy should have found someone who did look more like him, IMO.

In fact, the only time I don't like people are when they're stupid and that isn't being racist. I don't think that Beyonce is a great actress, but she is okay. I don't think she should win any awards for her acting, but she is okay. I thought she did quite well in Dreamgirls. I just want to see someone who looks like Wonder Woman play Wonder Woman. Megan Fox looks like her, but if they tried to get Angelina Jolie to play her I would object to that, too. Angelina Jolie doesn't look like Wonder Woman. I already said that if someone is going to play a person (fake or real) that they should look alike.

PinkNC, I honestly couldn't care if Beyonce was an alien from outer space. Race doesn't matter to me at all! I make my friends based on their personalities, not their race. I'm just saying that if Beyonce even looked like Wonder Woman (which she doesn't) and was a great actress then I'd have no problem watching her play Wonder Woman. I don't really like Megan Fox, but she is a great actress and she looks a lot like Wonder Woman. I think she could be the actress to play her. If Wonder Woman were black, then I would still say that Beyonce shouldn't play her. They just don't look alike and Beyonce couldn't do justice to the role.

Beyonce brought race into the conversation, by saying having a black woman in the role would be a powerful thing. I truthfully believe we should be color blind. And the best actress should get the job, not just because they look like wonder woman (because truthfully, it's a comic book character first and foremost) and definitely not because it would be a powerful thing to have someone of color. I think many singers think they can be actresses, and many actresses think they can be singers, and it RARELY works. Beyonce is an example of just that. Someone like Halle Berry is a wonderful actress, but after seeing what she did with catwoman, I think she should stay away comic book characters... Maybe someone with more curves would look great in the outfit maybe scarlett johansson but I will leave this decision to the directors.

Pallas Athena, I see what you're saying (and I'm a 'colored', though not black, person). Not wanting Beyoncé to play WW because of her skin color can be entirely valid and non-racist; Wonder Woman just isn't black! I don't understand why people get so upset over anything that has to do with race, just for the sake of race. Skin color should be seen as just another physical trait here, and a requirement for the role. Suppose we had a white guy playing the role of Malcolm X or something? That would be just as silly.
