The many actors from the hotly anticipated upcoming Twilight film were rounded up by Vanity Fair for their December issue. In addition to taking lots of photos, the magazine sat each of the movie's stars down for individual Q&A sessions. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have been attracting an especially large amount of attention lately as the lead characters — maybe because women can't resist a vampire tale? — and they both had lots to say about the process of working together. Here's more:
- Kristen on working with Robert: "Well, I basically cast him. We did one day of auditions and a bunch of guys came in. Catherine Hardwicke, the director, afterwards was like, 'What do you think? This is such a hard choice.' I was like, 'Are you kidding me!? It's such an obvious choice!' It couldn't have been better. It was sort of perfect."
- Robert on preparing for his role: "I basically spent two months thinking, 'O.K., how can I play this character like he is written and be absolutely nothing like him in real life? How can I get away from the most major aspect of his description — his appearance?' As it is written from Bella’s perspective, she describes him in this obsessively lustful way. She does not see a single flaw in him at all. It’s a very traditional aspect of first or young love. So, it took me ages to think of it, but it ended up being really simple: if you are in love with someone, you can’t see any flaw in the other person. So I finally figured out that I didn’t have to play the most beautiful man on the planet, but just play a man in love."
- Kristen on her trademark style: "I'm a really typical girl. I look like everyone."
- Robert on his trademark style: "Looking terrible. Truly, I wear the same thing every day. I don’t know how to use a washer machine."
While most people wouldn't agree with their impressions of themselves, Kristen and Robert both seem to be ready for the fan mania and to be catapulted even more into the spotlight when the movie opens next Friday on Nov. 21.

I think Kristen and Rob look hot together!
hopefully the movie won't suck!
1God, I HATE those books!
2Oh when will the Twilight mania be over?????
3I don't the sudden fascination with Twilight, especially Robert Pattison. He alwasys looks unwashed and high!
4I love the books but the movie looks incredibly cheesy.
5Give me more of Cam Gigandet. Hot hottie hot.
6I thought he was really cute in Goblet of Fire--it's good to see him doing more projects. I don't know how I feel about her, though. She's like this not-as-pretty cross between Emma Watson and Keira Knightley, IMO.
7I think she is beautiful, I remember her in that film oh god don't remember, the one where she was a gypsy girl, she took my breath away, really, i though wow....you're absolutely stunning! Now I remember Into The Wild that film
8The books are amazing!!! I can't wait for the movie! Already have tickets!
9^^^I know... but I sure have a crush on the young lad
Maybe it's because I can
identify with Bella.
Not Kristen, Bella
And the opening date of Nov. 21st makes perfect sense.
Excerpt from "(Part 20 of 20) - Ending"
by James Grengs
"Wisdom comes with belief.
Believe in me, my kind, and fear.
But now, believe in me, and fear-
Not for your blood, as once was,
But for your soul.
Believe-
Save yourself from the fate I exist in, now."
"Big Meanie..." :[
10ugh. i wish twilight mania would end. books were great but the movie looks like it's gonna be super corny
11the movie will definitely not suck... I cannot say this enough times: Kristen and Robert are perfect in the lead roles! and i fully agree with bluesteyes, Kristen was amazing in Into the Wild... and the twilight-books are incredible... aslo, i think the twilight-mania will continue for quite the while, since they're probably making the following 3 books into movies as well...
12"He alwasys looks unwashed and high!" ... I meant that part! LOL
13Loooove it ..
14Not the books (dont read that much).. maybe the movie when i see it..Love the guy .
I don't think Robert Pattinson is that cute, so I don't understand the fascination with him.
15haha he said "washer machine" I don't know why that makes me laugh. I do like what he said about "just playing a man in love." Perceptive.
16Overhyped.
17I think Robert makes the perfect vampire but I also think that Ed Westwick (Chuck from "Gossip Girl") would make a great one too.
18Love Robert especially in "Badmothers Handbook"!
19And his music of course!
20I might have to start reading these books!
21everyone should read those books... really... rob's quite amazing really, and you're right RaCheer... Ed would make a goos vampire...
22his hair is insane, he needs a hair cut, it's so weird!
23I don't get the hype over this movie either =/
24But these pictures sre good
I love his answers.
25I don't totally see Edward in Robert but these books are soo addictive!
26Loved the books and I'm sure I'll love the movie! Not going into thinking it'll be "Oscar" material...just simply looking for good entertainment. I love the comments "Overhyped...", "Don't get the hype...", etc. If your read and loved the books like MILLIONS of others you'd "get the" hype!!
27I really love that girl (Kristen Stewart). I loved her since the first time I saw Speak. I'll probobaly go and see this because I really like her.
28hey pop i think you meant "kristen on working with robert".
29he is a hot and those photos are so beautiful!
30OMG so excited! Already have my midnight ticket!!!!!!!
31she's so naturally pretty
32I love all the hype that this movie and books are getting!! (To each his own) The cast are all hot!!!
33i haven't read the books but i'm going to go watch the movie, much to the chagrin of people i know. i'm not sure why? i have to check it out, to see if it lives up to the hype
robert pattinson is super hot. i actually think his hair helps his hotness factor lol. and kristen is beautiful to me! i like her chill attitude too
34Omg I'm soooo frigging excited to see this. I already read the first book, and I'm waiting for my sister to finish the second one so I can start. I love Edward Cullen, and Robbert Pattinson IN the movie, but I don't think he's that hot outside of it. My sister is in love with him though. Lol.
35I can't wait for this movie...read the books...loved them..and think RP is great for Edward Cullen
36is it just me or does kristen look a lot like evan rachel wood in the trailers to this movie ? if i liked vampire movies then i might be inclined to see this one, but i'm not - sadly. i hope that it does well though since there's been so much buzz about it.
37I just passed out from excitement!!!
38I was against him as Cedric in Harry Potter. I haven't read the Twilight books so I'm not really into the hype. I am kinda sick of seeing them everywhere, but if I were into Twilight I would be all for it. Kristen is really boring and extremely plain to me. She reminds me A LOT of Evan Rachel Wood and in a bad way..
39OMG!! i adore robert, his god on Looking terrible, well if thats looking terrible, I DONT wanna know wots being ugly!
40i'm looking foreward to the movie. as one of the "older" fans...but not one of the few!
it will be fun to see the movie to see how close it actually holds up to the book.
41I feel so guilty. I haven't read any of the books, and yet I bought the last ticket for the midnight showing of it for my friend's birthday party. Some girl is probably crying because of me...
But these pictures are really hot. Everyone looks very good in them
42CANNOT wait for the movie
43I absolutely do not understand the obsession of these books. They were poorly written, poorly edited, predictable, and set the feminist movement back 50 years.
44I must be on some other planet as I haven't heard of these actors, the movie or the books. Granted, I do live in the UK so perhaps it's not very popular over here.
45I actually didn't care for him being cast nor her. It kind of annoyed me. Dont' get me wrong. he's cute and all. but NOT EDWARD HOT. and she's NOT BELLA. ugh. i dont' want to be disappointed. I know I will be and that wont' stop me from seeing it. They do look hot here. But ... Ugh i just want to see it and get it over with.
46I am in love with the book and I pictured Bella looking alot like Kristen, but I pictured Edward differently...whiter, taller, manlier. I think Robert is too pretty. We'll see how he does in the movie. Maybe he will change my mind when he plays the sexiest vampire EVER!
As usual with movies, it will be hard to see the changes that they make from the book...but remember people, IT IS A MOVIE and they need to entertain. The whole seen where Bella tells Edward that she knows he is a vampire- that happened in a car- not so exciting for a movie. So they had to do it in the forest. Keep your mind open and let the movie entertain you. I can't wait!!!
47And to comment on what Great Sommelier said above, why does every book, movie, etc. have to set back the feminist movement 50 years??? Has anything actually changed? I mean, really...just let it go. We are still women, still strong, etc. and to be honest, Bella may be insecure, but are there not girls out there who are just as insecure. Doesn't it show them that even being insecure, you can still think for yourself and be brave?!?
48I can resist! those books are terrible!
49Im sorry, but writing something for the teen girl market where the teen girl says she will die without this boy that she met in highschool is awful. And having her just go lay down in the woods to die when he breaks up with her....so wrong. HAVING TO ASK PERMISSION TO DO THINGS...unacceptable.
