Mesayme : Um have you been living under a rock. How many hate crimes have been targeted towards homosexuals that go unreported committed by people of all nationalities. That f**ked up if you ask me. It is the same as the Civil rights that black people and all fought for. It is no different. Civil rights are for everyone. The only time they should be reviewed carefully if it's something harming someone or a minor . If you followed history closely when Black people wanted their rights and Blacks and Whites wanted to marry many churches quoted religious text because it was forbidden. The same is happening now. People often forget that celebrities are real people who before they were famous also thought about issues like you and me. Because they express them now doesn't make them any less relevant than if they were expressed by a political figure or regular citizen.

Hi Mesayme. Not to gang up on you. But comparing the fight for gay rights to the civil rights movement in the 50s and 60s is completely fair. You think gays haven't been harassed, bullied, beaten and and jailed for protesting? Did you know that it was normal practice, before 1970, for cops to raid gay bars and arrest everyone there, just for being there? Thanks to the Civil Rights Movement, homosexuals do not have to fight for their basic human rights, just their right to marry. Is marriage a basic human right ? No it is not.

I believe they are being discriminated, but they aren't being persecuted. African-Americans were. African-Americans were being beaten by cops and still are, just because of their skin color that just wasn't a homosexual issue.

Well both of your examples ummm white men were doing the persecution. Now were the white men selected because they were just white, no. An ism took precedent ... religion or citizenship etc, etc. A white supremist or white anti-semite does not see you, because you stated you were Jewish, as a white person as themselves, but as a Jewish person someone beneath them.
