The red carpet was fun, but the real action happened on stage at last night's CMA Awards. Reese was out to present Brad Paisley the award for Male Vocalist of the Year while Nicole Kidman left Keith's side for a minute to give out a statue alongside her Australia costar Hugh Jackman. Keith didn't take home any statues but he did perform his new single to kick off the show alongside the hosts for the night, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. Kid Rock brought a new edge to the show taking the stage with Lil' Wayne on the guitar. Shania Twain looked simply stunning. Carrie, who showed off many gorgeous gowns, scored Female Vocalist of the Year, but the night's big winner was Kenny Chesney once again — see the full list of winners here. The 42nd CMA Awards kept things fun, youthful and interesting out to perform and celebrate another year in country music together.

4Sorry to sound so negative today, but I must say that Miley Cyrus dresses much too old for her age and Taylor Swift dresses much too young for her age. Also Kellie Pickler looked like a low-rent hooker in that outfit. However, Reese and Shania looked absolutely stunning.
5I absolutely LOVE Reese's dress! I have to agree, as well - Miley Cyrus dresses way too grown up (Not lying, when I see her I think of VD), and I've had enough of all of the "Princess/Prom" dresses that I see Taylor wearing. I've seen her video and I know it's themed that way, and I'm sure that she's just catering to her main audience, but I would love to see her dress more like an adult. I think it would go over really well, since she's about 18 now anyway.... I think.

10It's harder than people realize to go on after stuff like that, famous or not. Some women stick it to another woman to feel better about themselves...and then there's gracefulness, like Shania, Reese, Carrie, Nicole, Miley and Taylor.
Miley Cyrus needs a new stylist. Someone that won't dress her like a 40 year old.
Reese is usually SO stylish and cute, but her hair looks like it was caught in a blender here! Love her dress though. What the heck is she doing at the CMAS????????
Everyone says Taylor Swift is so beautiful. I think she's cute and EXTREMELY talented, but everytime I see her, something looks "off" to me. Is it just me?

My guess? Papa Joe couldn't get her a performance spot and she didn't want to got just to present an award and sit in the audience watching her bf's ex shine all night. Carrie hosted, performed, (I'm not a fan but her performance was definitely the performance of the night, she got a standing o) and she also won Top Female Vocalist. Plus, Jessica's country career is bombing...

Secondly, I wouldn't have expected him
there at all. Of course, he and Nicole are promoting Australia, and Nicole's there with some guy named Keith 
so...I guess that's how it works.

19Thank you, Greggie! I thought Shania could have done much, much better. What was with that hair? All I could think was "Fancy Mullet." I know it wasn't, but between the bad hair and the boobs...no no no!!
And I'm sorry, but I can't STAND Kenny Chesney! I like pure country, pop country, rock country BUT NO MORE REGGAE/ISLAND COUNTRY. Get a new sound already.
Finally - did anyone notice when Brad won that the camera's went to the lady NEXT to Kimberly? That made me chuckle.
