PETA....Wow! I didnt see that coming!!!

I totally agree w/ Sam. It's like abortion clinic bombers killing others for killing others. PETA lost my respect ages ago with their over the top violent reactions in the name of non-violence. My deploring deliberate pain inflicted on any reason unecessary (if a dog is attacking I will defend my kids or me)is something I get about PETA, but two wrongs don't make a right ever.

In the place were i work ,we have to go out on the field and get results in temperatures -20 and -25.Many people wear furs in the heavy winter.My city is up in the mountain.I dont wear fur yet i wear leather.In Europe in general big number of people wear fur and leather and they also have pets too.Its a choice.You choose to wear or not to wear it.Its a right.
Lindsay has become a hitting basket or what else is called.I must say she is harder than i thought.It shows in her face that the incident has influenced her and she looked strained last night in London.I like the fact Samantha seems so strong and smart.And i like even more that Samanthas family has surounded Lindsay with so much love.Samanthas sisters and brother were with them last night,sitting close and hugging Lindsay all night.
As for the rest of the rumors,many people want them breaking up.I have a feeling all these crap bring them more close.
On another note,Jay Z couldnt find one club in Uk that will pay 14000 for him in order to attend.Samantha is rumored to be getting 30000 a night.And whats even better,she actually plays in club she used to play before she becomes famous not caring what its fashionable or not right now.

While I dont agree with the way Peta does things , The fur trade is horrible. They skin poor animals alive alot of times just for there fur. Im not going to get into details but it is horrible, and I dont think some people understand how there "trendy" fur coat was actually made.

i can completely understand what it is that PETA is trying to do but i think that their tactics are a bit wrong and that's what bothers me. i would have guessed that over time they would have realized that sometimes the best way to make an impact on people is to be a bit less aggressive with their tactics. but i guess that's kind of too much for them right?

There's a nice book that explains the issues of celebrities wearing fur called "Spanking the Monkey". Basically, when celebrities wear fur it makes other non-celebrities want to wear fur. So, they buy "fake" fur. However, the "fake" fur jackets and even "fake" fur hood linings are not usually fake fur...they contain dog hair and other real animal products. There is NO guarantee that your "fake" fur isn't really some sort of animal.

No guarantee of being a fake fur then no guarantee of being a not fake fur! Anyway, why use all that free violence? What for? What about other people that really wear not fake fur?

I bought a not fake fur last century. I paid very expensive, I am sorry but i didnt think about the animals that were killed to produce that beautiful jacket!! And in 2003 my mom gave me one very beautiful, soft, thin, so pretty and i wear it more than the other i bought. Again, I am sorry, seriously but i was not thinking in the poor animals, sorry again! But whenever i wear it nobody attacks me, on the opposite, they say what a pretty jacket you have!!!

I agree with Sam as well. Hurting people to get your point across doesn't help. And I really wish that the PETA people showed this much concern about the homeless, battered women, children and starving children.

Maybe petit PETA gets more famous but i will continous wearing my not fake fur and i will have some grill rabbit for lunch today!!!

PETA has turned itself into a national joke over the past decade. They're well known for throwing things, not for their tremendous impact on animal rights. Celebritites that help advertise for them (Pam Anderson's "I'd rather go naked than wear fur" spread) are giving them some positive associations, but they still end up looking like bratty kids.

Lohan is a public figure so what she wears might very well influence people. I would not have chosen this tactic but I guess it achieved what it wanted: people are talking about it and even more so since Sam brought the whole thing up again.

I don't agree with PETA's tactics, but they do not only target celebrities, they would attack anyone wearing fur or some type of animal cruelty act.

No one has the right to tell anyone what or what not to wear bottomline. It's a personal choice and not up for dicussion. I'd like to see PETA try that on some Inuit Indians, or any other culture wear 1000 of years of fur wearing, meat eating, bone tool making isn't going to end if that group can help it. I'd like to see them also toss flour on 50cent, Diddy, Kid Rock etc. Why don't they ever attack them? Cause they know an arse kicking they'd catch ain't worth it. PETA is ridiculous. They used to be all about helping animals, now they are all about attacks. I was sitting next to a woman at my sons hockey game last night that had a coat with Rabbit Fur on the collar. I jokingly told her, "Watch out for Peta!" and she says "They wouldn't know what hit them if they came after me." LOL

They have become a joke and are no longer the reputable organization they once were. Now they are just freaks.
