After receiving their honors up on stage, the winners at last night's American Music Awards headed over to the press room with their scary dangerous trophies. Taylor Swift, Jordin Sparks and Rihanna posed with their prizes, while big winner Chris Brown looked like he had a hard time managing his haul. Paris Hilton wasn't taking anything home, but that didn't stop her from striking a few poses for the waiting cameras. Mariah Carey looked the happiest of all the evening's honorees, with one arm holding her statuette and the other around her husband Nick Cannon.

This show was terrible and only because the sound was totally off. WTF? I really enjoyed Christina performance but it looked like it exhausted the crap out of her. Beyonce was great but I'm tired of her trying to be like Tina Turner. There's only one. Coldplay was okay . Kanye has such a big ego and his statement of saying that Chris Brown, Rhianna, and Beyonce can all be bigger than the The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, etc was utterly ridiculous. They can't and never will be because The Beatles, Jimmi Hendrix, and all those great ones were Social , Political changers. You don't get that from Beyonce , Rhianna, Kanye, and Chris Brown. Sorry Kanye think before you speak. There are times when I wish for example Grace Jones was still around performing for the Mainstream to really show people like Kanye , Rhianna, and Beyonce who is FUNKY and Original.
1wow. i wish i was rihanna. she looks gorgeous
2paris is a trip. it's like she's ALWAYS posing and there's no need for it. when she was presenting, she had to keep turning and show her side view - i don't get it. oh well.
3cnyc - I totally agree!
4I did think the sound was a bitt off and the teleprompter must have been too far away. Everyone was tripping over their own words.
5LOL @ cync1
6What the heck is wrong with Paris? Her contrived poses look absolutely ridiculous!
7GAWD Nick Cannon gives me the heebie jeebies.
8He makes my skin crawl
Congrats to everyone on their awards!
9Rihanna is on fire
10Can Paris be more slutty?
11Is it me or does Rhianna look like a super hero version of herself?
12Does Paris really think she looks attractive? She has no shape and looks like a 10yr old boy.
13not that im defending paris but im 17 and i have no butt and no boobies eader should i feel ugly now because i have no shape eader?
14Nope, Cherrypop. Don't worry!
15I think it's waaaaay more important & attractive what your attitude is in life. Way more important than all the superficial & fake stuff Paris is trying to sell to the world. Looks fade, intelligence doesn't.
While I did think Rihanna was a good performance (and better than I expected) her outfit and the whole stage show was just not matching with that song. It was a weird mix I thought.
cync, I thought the audio was all messed up also! I couldnt hear any bass or anything for reason.
16aw thanks Cookie1973 made my day a bit better
17ou btw overall i agree with cnyc1a .
Glad I missed it after all the reviews. Was kinda bummed initially when I forgot they were going to be on.
18I enjoyed the show. It was all about strong females thats for sure. The performances, by Pink, Alicia,Queen Latifah, Kathleen Battle, Sarah Maclachan,Annie Lennox,Christina and Taylor were awesome! Rihanna,Kanye and Natasha also did a pretty good job. The only thing that was annoying was the constant mention of MIley cyrus' birthday and anything to do with the Jonas Brothers. Both of their performances were annoying aswell as the hideous performance of the pussycat dolls. I laughed so hard when the one girl couldn't get her coat off. Props to Chris Brown for artist of the year.
19Paris please, it's not a sit n spin toy so go home...can't even imagine what she'd do with that thing if she got one
20To the first comment about the Beatles and Jimmi Hendrix being 'social/political' changers. I think that's a ridiculous statement. The few artists that did that were more like BoB Dylan, Earth,Wind,Fire,Franke Beverly(not a 'mainstream' artist but a RnB genuis) and quite a few other artists of the 60's and 70's when social consciousness drove music instead of greed/money like today. Though I am not a true fan of Kanye West, I have to give him credit for making some great lyrical contributions to today's music - Jesus Walks,Gold Digga,Blood Diamonds?,and his whole Graduation album. And mainstream may never understand what 'funk' is - because it certainly isn't Grace Jones - she was just weird. So I think bottom line there will never be a 'blending' of music genre's that can be appreciated by all. And since the majority of artists today are trying to do that for the sake of music sales, not for the quality of good music - we probably won't have any greats. Once you blend music genre's-they are no longer rock,RnB,Heavy Metal,Rap,Funk etc - it's just 'Pop'(popular) music. Money didn't rule the artist back in the days of Jimmi Hendrix/Beatles - they did it for the love of music. I do give Chris Brown his credit also, because as a performer - he entertains his audience exceptionally well. And I'm not a teen or tween and I loved his concert. Haven't seen one like it since Michael Jackson.
21Rihanna looks gorgeous..Paris needs to know when to stop, not everything is about her...The careycannon looks happy..one can feel the love!!!!
