Kanye West took his cap straight from the AMAs to the Ed Sullivan theater for a performance on the The Late Show With David Letterman last night. Poor Kanye sounded a little hoarse as he belted out "Love Lockdown," but it's been a super busy week for him promoting 808s & Heartbreak, which is out today. As the critics start weighing in on his new sound, Kanye has nothing but pride for his new album, saying, "You know people sometimes don't understand great art when they first hear it, but I am very confident in it. Whether it sells as much as the last one, or way more, I feel like I am just successful in doing something I felt really good about." We're already sold on Kanye's new sound even though he seems to be in a sad place right now, and it sounds like he's come a long way since last year's feud with 50 Cent.

2This man is soo talented, I love his music and that he's always changing it up but always sounds GREAT. So many of his songs are amongst my favorites.
I get annoyed when a lot less talented people in Hollywood are making it big without having any quality to them..but I am glad that at least there are a few of them who are talented and deserve the fame they have..he is definitely one of them!
3I saw him last night on Letterman and I love the song but something about his performance just made me want to cry. I don't think his singing is that bad just the subject of the song and his sincerity made me want to cry or give him a hug or soemthing. I feel so bad for him ever since his mother passed away and I can't imagine all the stuff he must be going through and still having to make music and promote it must be exhausting

6i would have thought that he would have performed love lockdown during the AMAs but i'm assuming that he's tired of doing that one since the single's been out for a couple weeks. it's by far my favorite from the album so far though. anyway, it's nice that he's finally gotten recognized for his work, and hopefully this will humble him just a bit.
7martini rossi im with you. i cant stand kanye. he is so arrogant. his new single sucks. i cant see how anyone can call it music when he is using a program to alter his voice.

8I can't stand him either. I can't believe he ranks himself with The Beatles or Elvis Presley, how cocky can a person be? Keep telling yourself how amazing you are Kanye, the joke is on you.
9I try and ignore his personality and focus on the music he makes because his attitude makes him seem like a bit of a joke to me. I'm interested to hear the whole album after the singles were very unexpected sound wise. Who wants to hear the same album repeated over and over after all. Even if it isn't as good, I'd rather have the experimentation.
