Britney performed "Womanizer" at the 2008 Bambi Awards on Thursday in Germany. It's the first big act in her upcoming promotional tour for her new album that comes out on Tuesday, which is also her birthday. It's a big week for Britney who also has her MTV documentary on Sunday, which should give us an inside look on how she prepared for this comeback. We've seen her training in the dance studio a lot so tell us, do you like her first "Womanizer" performance? Love it or Leave it?
a little nervous at first but I LOVED IT! and sooo surprised she actually sang [for the most part] and sounded pretty good. go brit!
1Why does she even bother with a microphone? Britney couldn't sing live if she wanted to, she needs pre recorded music to back up her sh*ttastic lack of talent. If I do remember correctly, and I may be a bit fuzzy but I beleive she was the first person on SNL to not sing live.
I don't understand what the fuss is about her. She's just one big bipolar train wreck who can dance. She has absolutely no musical talent what so ever aside from what the studios provide her with through editing.
2I wish there was a middle poll option, like "It was OK."
It didn't rock and it didn't suck. Good for her though, she seems to be coming back.
3she looks gorgeous, it was an OK performance. But much better than the VMAs.
4Yeah, I'd opt for 'ok' too. I saw footages of her older performances (before K-FED time), and I always thought that she has this 'look' in her eyes that's so expressive that made me understand why many people are just captivated by her.
5Right now, I haven't seen that 'look' anymore, and the performance..is..ok, I guess, not spectacular but not awful too.
it was better than her 2007 VMA performance..but she did just walk around alot..you can clearly see her hearts not in it..
6and hope2be i totally know what you talking about with the whole look in her eyes thing..in just not there..its blank
How friggin' boring. I wouldn't see her if I got a free pass. Dang.
7well i think that any opportunity for brit to get back out there is a step in the right direction. i love her and i hope that her tour for the new album is amazing.
8she lost passion for her art, she is doing this because its the only thing she knows how to do. The performance was ok.
9it's tough to dance/perform in 4 inch heels.
10i liked the performance, she's on her way back.
I can't stand that song. The lyrics are repeated over and over . It's monotonous and monotone. It's a lousy song and I never was a fan of Britney. She never would sing live anyway.
11she doesn't seem ready to be back or she's just nervous, well see with her performance tonight in France.
12she seems nervous.i didn't like the song anyway.
13I think it was pretty good considering. The poor girl has been through a lot lately and I feel has been a bit "pushed" (once again) into performing too soon. Hopefully she will get over her nerves. Her body is phenomenal!!
14I think the performance was OK, I mean it would be good for a new singer, but this is Britney Spears and we have such high expectations of her dancing abilities that so rarely get showed off anymore!
15did anyone else notice the resemblance to Madonna's recent concert outfit? even the top hat.
16
actually worse than boring, no matter how how hard she tries, she looks like she doesn't.
17I was very surprised she did this "TV premiere" in Germany. Maybe it was because if she had sucked it would not have been reckognized so much in the US?
18She was nervous but i guess it was ok .
19It takes time to get used to it id be nervous to if id have to perform after so long .
But it was alot better than the one on the music awards !
Keep it going Brit Brit
I didn't vote because I don't think it was GREAT but I don't think it was sh*t, too. It was OK.
20But why would she wear such a similar costume like Madonna? Eww -_- (She looked way better in it than Madonna though).
I thought it was amazing considering what she has been going through. She did looked nervous, but she has every right to. Overall, I loved it and I thought she did great.
21she seemed a bit nervous...poor lass.
22good song though.
the ending verse her real voice went a second longer than the recording
23Foofie (and all those others who think Britney has no talent)
I am not the biggest Britney fan, I think she got too famous and too rich too young and it really messed her up.. But I realise that there was a reason that this happened! She is an amazing talent and she is one of the best performers around- look at some of her performances from her hay-day! This doesn't do her justice and I agree that she seems a bit mechanical.. Not a lot of passion anymore...
But if you need proof that she can sing like a champion then check this youtube link!
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gSx0qGc128g
Don't judge her on the generic crap that they give her to sing that shows no musical talent- it's the same with many stars! look ar Rihanna!
24Just because she has better hair and makeup than before people think she is "back"? So ridiculous, this was not a good performance at all! She has ZERO talent. Her image might have been enough to make her famous in the late 90s/early 00s when nobody had talent, but now she is completely irrelevant and pathetic. She very clearly lip synched through the entire performance because she cannot sing live [or in the studio]. She isn't even a good dancer. I really thought it was the same dance routine from that awful VMAs appearance, but she always does a similar, simple dance routine that's not difficult or impressive.
25I have a qustim how I get gift. i hae two how I whant
26looks ok...though it can use a little bit more of energy
27I agree with redlilly24.
28She walked around most of the performance
29She was nervous, but pulled it off with an ok performance. The look on her face at the end was pure nervousness, she was waiting for the audience's approval.
30The song is awful and she didn't seem into the performance at all. Just going through the motions. I wonder if she even wants te be performing or if she is being pushed into it.
31Well, she didn't dance at all, she just stood there while her dancers did all the work. Since I don't really like her songs, I wish she could concentrate on the moves...
32Ahaha, I didn't see the end (because I stopped at first at 1:00, but the applause wasn't that enthusiastic and the look on the commentator was "Ok, next !"
33LAST 45 SECONDS YOU COULD TOTALLY TELL SHE WAS BACK!!
34One word:OK.
35meh.
She wasnt rockin the dancing or anything
"Well, hard to dance in 4 inch heels"
36OK, then don't wear 4 INCH HEELS when it is your comeback performace and people have such high expectations. DUH
Pretty stiff...no hip swinging, no feeling the beat. It was robotic and frozen.
37the audience also seemed very quiet
38The performance was great!
39I was a bit surprised by the audience: old quiet man...
everyone sings with the backing track. Its so they can have their horrible overproduced album-esq autotune'd voices and other various, overused effects, playing... i would know, i'm responsbile for some of them! (audio engineer)
40I don't know why she's so eager to be in the spotlight again (unless that's what "truly" makes her happy). I just think that if you go through something as severe as she did you need to take a (long) break from everything and regroup. In my totally unscientific opinion, this all seems too soon.
41it was o.k....
42i didn't like it! poor girl. i think she will be even more nervous on netx performances, because, at this time, she already knows most of people is desappointed...
43It wasn't as painful as the VMAs, but it was still pretty lackluster. Even at the end she looked unsure of herself, as if she didn't know if the crowd would applaud her or boo her.
44It was okay I guess... she's never been a good singer so you expect her to make up for it with an amazing visual show. This was just boring, but still strides better than the VMAs. This comeback still feels really forced.
45she looks like madonna.. with this outfit and hair - dont you think?
46It's almost as though she's forgotten how to dance.
47It's the 2007 VMA routine dumbed down. They took out some of the more complicated moves for her, so she just has to wander around and move her arms at times. That was all part of her House of Blues tour "dancing" as I recall, so she's been practicing these moves for quite awhile.
I wonder why performing in Europe this week was more important than a family holiday.
48I think she is sick of this sh*t. I truly believe the only reason she is performing is because she has nothing else to do, and she is being pressured to take back her image.
I think everyone needs to leave her alone. She is a totally different person now. She def. has some mental issues, but I feel bad, because hers is now a public thing. If people really didnt care about Britney, they wouldn't talk about her negative or positive.
She is completely dead inside.
49I really like the song but I found myself skipping through the clip so that's not a good sign... I think the crowd didn't help though. Did they o.d on valium before the show? They were so sedate...
