The singer has always been serious about her faith, especially with a minister for a father, and she talked about religion and how she uses self-help books in the interview. Here are some highlights:

religion. I remember whenever the book The DaVinci Code came out, the Discovery Channel did this three-night piece on it that I TiVoed and then watched eight times." - On self-help books: "I am the first person to go to Barnes & Noble and buy the new
self-help book. I like to fill out the surveys, then I get my friends' opinions on how I answered to see if I was being honest with myself or not."
Jessica is always the first one to admit that she's open to self-improvement, but at least she's always as honest as possible with her fans.

She has definitely come across as being an idiot in the past, but those comments in particular make her seem insecure and she also doesnt seem to know herself very well. Religion and self help books are vehicles for trying to find yourself and your pupose in life, even if she has a 13 year olds perspective of the process - checking with your friends to see if you answered correctly? I support self improvement though so hopefully she actually discovers something about herself thats meaningful like what the heck happened to her career. Does she even still sing??

Jessica is real good at saying I would like to attend a college course, but will she actually do it. No she won't. She is just saying alot of nothing to fill up a magazine article. Next week she will be saying something different. I don't know why magazines keep putting this hasbeen on the covers. she has nothing interesting to say.
