Let the LL sober stories begin. Someone is clearly trying to inform us that Lindsay is not the same underage drinking party girl she has been in the past. We call it image damage control, but her skipping out on the VMAs is a sign that she may not care as much to be at every party. Here she is with Harry leaving Rachel Zoe's birthday at Social nightclub. Page Six reports more on LL's new sober nights:
BILLION-heir Harry Morton is trying his best to save Lindsay Lohan from herself - and it looks like he's doing a good job. "Harry has told her not to drink so much and is trying to calm her down," said our spy. Lohan was scheduled to hit town for the MTV Video Music Awards festivities this week, but called friends at the last minute and told them, "I don't need to be there." Our insider added, "Harry told her not to go." Morton is also trying to get Lohan to calm down by buying her a dog. Not that Lohan isn't going out in L.A. - she's just always supervised by either Morton, who doesn't drink or do drugs, or her new best friend, Samantha Ronson, who is also sober. Lohan is also taking up Ronson's hobby of deejaying. She hopped behind the DJ booth at Entertainment Weekly's pre-Emmy party on Saturday night at Republic and re mained sober throughout the night. "She tried to order a drink, but they carded her . . . she was the last to leave the party," said our source. Lohan's rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, declined to comment.

Then slap me silly and call me a liar because I didn't party a lot when I was young. Heck, I didn't even drink until I was 18 (and was in England staying with my father) and 21 when I was in the States. I never saw the fun or the interest in drinking until I was drunk and years later, I still don't. I drink once in a blue moon at this point in my life.

I guess I'm a 'liar' too? LOL. I've never gotten drunk or really drink anything other than champagne on occasions. I think there are better ways to have fun. I view young 'drinkers' as stupid and trying to get attention. But that's just my opinion. Not saying I'm perfect, either. But honestly, what's hot about doing silly sh*t you won't even remember, then waking up the next day with a pounding headache? No thanks.
That's why I say: Lindsay is old enough to control herself. But with her mother...... ugh. I guess there was no way around the drinking and drugs for her. It's a miracle the kid is still alive.

Or gee... he COULD have been surprised by the lights of the paps' cams, causing his pupils to suddenly dialate. Harry Morton is a pretty good guy, from all accounts. He smokes, but doesn't really drink and is a pretty stable guy.
And Lohan doesn't even vaguely resemble a heroin addict. Being in the music biz, I've seen enough of them to know.

Oh, and I'm with Pad, SPM, and ILTB. Never did party or drink a lot and don't now. I realize that a lot of young people do, but that makes it neither something that should be done, nor something "everyone does." And Lindsay Lohan is not a normal young person. She has an adult job that affects millions of dollars of other people's money so she should check her "I'm just a kid" excuses at the door.
