I definitely side with the mom on this one. I think Speidi are way over the top and fake. I definitely don't see this marriage going for the long run, but I can bet that when they do divorce, they will take full media advantage of it. No duh, why do you think they eloped?

I think some of the mom's comments were a little inappropriate to have on record. She thought Spencer drugged her... I mean, come on! Why would you say that publicly? I can understand why she would feel that way, but take it up with your daughter and her "husband" privately.

Call me cynical but none of these people are exactly "innocent" of what's involved here. The Hills is NOT a realty show with "ordinary people" getting blindsided by life... These are ACTORS WORKING OFF STUPID SCRIPTS! These people are getting paid to feed a public of fickle people who need an hour of escapism.

My 1 hour of escapism? "Life on Mars", "Eleventh Hour", "Pushing Daisies (I know it's been canceled)", etc. The only Reality Show I'll watch sometimes is "The Amazing Race" - that allows me to see country's I'll NEVER be able to visit.

I laugh at all the "I hate Heidi/Spencer", "they're so fugly (insert your own derogatory word here)", etc. So much emotion for 2 strangers who are mostly abhorred - yet, always commented on... The only reason they "don't go away" is because the blogs that feature them KNOW they'll get responses both positive & negative.

Take some free advice - If you want these 2 "wastes of space" gone, STOP posting about them.

I'm with mom on this one. yes they are adults. but come on she could have at least had her mother at the ceremony. the mother complaining so much about her marrying Spencer, but she's upset because she wasn't there. you need to put yourself in her mother's shoes. if this was you child who went off and got married without you being there to see you baby getting married you'd be pissed off too.
