Tom Cruise jetted up north to Toronto yesterday to stop by MuchMusic and show off his dance moves. There may not be any TRL for him to stop by anymore, but Tom still found somewhere with screaming teenage fans to pose with. After playing Santa with his girls over the weekend, it was back to the grind promoting Valkyrie. Cruise did a series of TV interviews while up visiting our neighbors to the north including at one point answering why he doesn't talk about Scientology anymore. He said, "I just said, 'That's it, no more, go to the (Scientology) website." Operation image clean up seems to be going well for Tom and winning back the public love from all of his fans, now we'll have to see how Valkyrie is ultimately received.

6well that explains why he was on the Hills After Show last night - if he was already in Toronto for his movie. i love him and i hope that people are able to give him another chance with things. i would much rather go see his movie on christmas day rather than Brad's but that's just me.

I appreciate the true story and subject matter, but am taken completely out of the depth and drama of it by the fact he couldn't even be bothered to try an accent or anything to bring him into character. He's typically just playing himself--another version of Tom Cruise. And he's doing it again here.
I can only imagine what an actor with more range like Leonardo DeCaprio might have done with a role like this, but we shall never know. I agree it's terrible timing on the release date, however.
Seriously, is anything to do with "Risky Business" even still relevant? LOL. I feel Tom really wants us to remember him like that, and forget that we got a glimpse behind the curtain into what he's really like!

15I can´t get that people are forgetting all his Scientology Videos and all he said about his religion and judging other people for not following. This guy didn´t change his opinion, he just stopped to talk about. He´s not a new human! Crazy America!
16When Tom Cruise was rep'ed by Pat Kingsley she kept a very tight lid on him. It's interesting that one of the reasons he fired her was because she advised against ever preaching about his beliefs.
I don't think for a second anyone believes he has changed anything that he believes in or that he feels any differently about it. I think he's simply willing to do anything at this point that will help salvage image and career, and that includes going back to the advice he was given originally by his former (and fired) agent.
Everyone tip-toes around Scientology because of the controversy and the group litigious nature, but the fact is that it would have been just as off-putting if Tom Cruise was spouting off on Mormon or Christian beliefs. He was just arrogant and ignorant in the way he went about it ("I know the history of psychiatry and you don't", etc)but in the end had to serve himself up a big piece of humble pie.
It's funny, because I didn't question his sincerity THEN, but I kind of do now.
