The Cruise family was bicoastally divided yesterday with Katie and Suri shopping in NYC while Tom stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live in LA. The two will just have to celebrate Tom's Golden Globe nomination when they're back in the same place. Ever the friendly celebrity, Tom stopped to sign some autographs, but unfortunately one fan got a little overzealous last month, and Tom was just granted a restraining order. While recently up in Canada losing his BlackBerry, Tom talked about the possibility of working with Katie someday. He said, "I would love it . . . Look at Newman and Woodward: if you find the right project . . . I'm not opposed to doing that. I love her work as an actress." He also expressed his desire to do a musical now that they're cool again and how he's gearing up for Katie's 30th birthday next week. Whether or not Valkyrie ends up a critical or box office success, Tom's charisma is sure to bring out the diehard fans to see his dramatic new film.

1My favorite Tom movie... 'The Firm' absolutely.

I do think he is a good actor and that Katie could be too if she chose the right projects. 6i think that people are taking his interview out of context. he didn't say that he wanted to do a musical - he said that he likes doing movies but that musicals were 'ok' ....you have to be careful how you spin things. but anyway, i guess they all have a LOT to celebrate since katie's b-day is next week.
i have to say though that it was interesting that Leno kept referring to katie as KATE during their interview.

8the media has destroyed Tom's career and it's a shame some people are such followers. Tom has his own opinion about drugs and i respect him for that. he is just passionate about what he believe in. he spoke against over medication, but the drug companies are more powerful than him. The Big Pharma won and Tom lost his amazing career, i hope he recovers and people open their eyes. Tom is not a bad person.

13I'm glad to see that Tom Cruise is toning down the crazy. His whole Scientology deal was a real turn off. I respect his religious views but I don't fell like he should be shoving them down everyone's throats. I watched him on Leno last night and I found him to be quite endearing even though I have never been a huge fan.
14How can ANYONE forget him in that Scientology Freedom Award video... I know the image of him walking across the stage, the Mission Impossible theme playing and it pulling back to show the Earth in space as the announcer says..TOM CRUISE has brought Scientology to 1 billion people ON EARTH!!! On Earth? No official tally yet for the non Earthlings he has brought to Scientology? Hmmmm.
