Ever since Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt eloped in Mexico last month, the legality of their nuptials has been in question. Spencer assured the press that the duo would be going through the necessary paperwork as soon as they were back from their honeymoon (or reenacting the whole lead-up to the wedding for The Hills cameras, either way). This week's episode was all about said wedding, and in the scenes from the next, it appears that Spencer and Heidi go to the courthouse to make the marriage legal.
The AP (yes, the real AP) did some investigating and found that MTV was given permission to film at the courthouse after hours and the "judge" in the scene is not any of the ones actually on their bench. Furthermore, a court spokesman said that when they do perform ceremonies at the courthouse they don't look anything like the one shown on the show.
While nothing really surprises us anymore in terms of these two, it's still a lot that they went so far as to rent out a courthouse to keep up the appearance of their marriage. What do you think, is this surprising or would you expect nothing less?

something's fishy alright... his breath and her....

jaan!!
I knew something had to be behind all this. They love the spot lot to much!
I thought we weren't going to post about them anymore?
Just that photo is enough to make me doubt the legitimacy of their relationship, much less their marriage.
It would be really smart for Heidi to not actually marry him. So maybe it was just for the show...which is no problem for me...I still like them.
I wouldn't be surprise if it just a publicity stunt to get their own show.
Soon no one will care about them anymore.... The Hills WILL end.... And we can pretend it was just an awful, awful dream...
They are beyond pathetic
hehehe
I certainly *hope* the whole thing is fake!
Whatever, just DO NOT have a kid for more attetion. Thanks.
*attention
These two make me sick
attention wh*res
ICK , Who actually cares about these attention wh*res. Boycott these idiot, debutardes.
It amazes me how people who ostensibly don't care about this "couple", sure seem to always add their two cents worth. If they bother you so much, move on.... I could care less one way or the other. I will say this however, Heidi may not be the most honorable person alive, but she has a body to die for! Yum, I'd hit that every which way to Tuesday.
obviously! and you could so tell from the hills episode on monday night, staged much?
I'm slightly disturbed that the AP is investigating this
i'm totally NOT SURPRISED at all about this one. i don't think that heidi really wants to be married to him knowing how much pain it causes everyone and how reliant she is on her family. i also think that she realizes that once she's sober she doesn't want to be with him. this is just so awful that they staged it in the courthouse. WHAT A JOKE
they're both idiots. she's brainwashed and he's a manipulative egotistical disrespectful immature LOSER!!!! He has NO JOB. I've said enough.
Funniest thing: i actually thought about this before i read anything and boom! Turns out it's true.
I'm just embarrassed for them at this point. Gross
disgust
Wouldn't it be great if all the media boycotted them and they just quickly slipped into obscurity?
I just cannot look away. The extend of their publicity-whoring is downright bizarre. What is their ultimate goal? Are they planning to take over the world?
Even though this show is beyond fake, this really takes the cake. I mean, they get "married" on the show but they aren't even legally married in real life? Why don't we just call it what is...a scripted soap opera. I'm done with this show.
i never understood the appeal of 'the hills'. lame soap opera, calling it 'reality' tv is absurd
