Dakota Fanning looked like quite the tough little lady with her hot leather jacket and Balenciaga shopping at Marc Jacobs earlier this week. She still had a chaperone, but the child star and high school cheerleader who we've seen on-screen since she was a little girl is so grown up at 14-years-old. Maybe the actress veteran picked up a post-holiday present for her younger sister Elle to congratulate her on Benjamin Button opening at number two over the long weekend.

it really does make me feel old since i remember her from her first few movies when she was really really young. i think that it's great that she and her sister are still so successful

I remember her in Sweet Home Alabama and Uptown girls... I like it, because she seems more mature, but she looks a lot older/maturer than most 14 year old, could pass for 16 or 17... maybe, lol.

i dont think its "bad ass" at all. nothing wrong with what she's wearing. i think its just cos were so used to seeing her in her girly dresses. this is just quite mature. more mature than were used to seeing on her really.

i think she looks pretty normal- i mean its just jeans and a tee and a jacket. yes the balenciaga is out of place on a normal 14 yr old, but that girl has worked hard enough to earn it! she seems to keep out of the tabs mostly and you rarely see her at premiers and parties (like some other 14 year olds!)

she looks fine. obviously she's growing up, she can't keep wearing dowdy frocks with weird collars all the time (thank God), and I think we should be glad she's not "growing up" the way Miley
& co have...no pictures in her underwear thus far, and this outfit is quite tame and appropriate. She's fashion-conscious but isn't trying to look twice her age (see Ali Lohan and
Miley...shudder)
She has better fashion sense than the freshmen at my school, AND dresses less skanky. Kudos.
and she deserves the bag. She works way harder than Lauren and Heidi...of course, that's not saying much. but still, she's a fairly good actress who works hard. If she can afford it, go for it.
