i'm kind of surprised that his hand is still all bandaged up like that - given that the accident was months ago and you'd think that the wrapping would be a little less major at this point. i hope that it's healing up though.

Honestly, I couldn't stand him in Even Stevens, but when he was in Transformers I was like WUT!?THISISNOTTHESAMEKID! He was totally hot, and has been since.

the bandage is from a second surgery he recently underwent. he really needs to get a newer, more reliable car. yeah that old cab is cute but he should have something that won't leave him stranded.

Shia just underwent his second surgery to try to gain back full motion on two of his fingers damaged when crushed by his flipping truck.

They took bone from his hip to replace crushed bones in his fingers.

Since his truck was totaled by the speeding foolio that ran the red light and tboned him.. he is left at this time with his skateboard and the red Checkers Cab he bought (sentimental purchase.. his agent took him to his first stand up gigs in a checkers cab). Shia has to jump it every time he starts it.. carries a charger with him..

Shia I know you are tight with your money honey and like to live a normal joe existence...but buy a new alternator or a replacement truck already dude...seriously.

They have finished filming Transformers now, and whilst they were filming (and his fingers were in the splint thing after the first surgery), they bandaged his hand up and worked it into the story.

I can remember a time when over a period of 7 months I kept spraining my right ankle by finding almost every pothole, rut, uneven surface of ground I walked on; it got to a point where I never looked up but down when I walked. I swear, as soon as it healed, I'd injure it again. It was as if a bad run of luck was stuck to me with super-glue.

Anyway, the bad luck DID pass, although I was left with a malformed ankle (the ankle bone had suffered trauma causing it to dislocate & stick out - It didn't hurt, just looked bad). As you can imagine, I was left with the mental need to "protect" my ankle to the point where I bought a brace & wore it for MORE than two years before I was confident enough to take it off. Then a weird thing happened - I fell down THREE STUPID STEPS, landed on a concrete floor & only twisted my ankle (not as bad as a sprain)... But the ankle bone went BACK IN!

In other words, once there's injury to the body, healed or not, one tends to protect it by bandages, braces, etc. so you keep it safe, & don't re-injure oneself.

That kid doesn't constantly fall out of clubs or get busted with white powder in his nose or get a DUI every other weekend. I think he is a lot more like your average college kid than a Hollywood wild child. Cut him some slack
