Keira missed the premiere of Pirates at Disneyland this weekend, but we're happy to see her looking lovely for the latest issue of Vogue. She has become quite the fashionista. First she takes over for Kate Moss as the new face of CoCo Mademoiselle fragrance. Check out her new ad and tell us which you prefer. Now she graces the pages of Vogue with a stunning photoshoot from Africa. Keira shares her thoughts on keeping fit and the media's focus on women's figures. Here's more:
...she firmly dismisses the idea of ever getting cosmetic surgery to enhance her figure. "'It's far too frightening. I couldn't."
That means that Knightley has no plans to alter her healthy diet and exercise regime in the hopes of packing on the pounds.
"Yes, I'd say that I do like to keep fit, only because I like to be able to run around and do things," she says. "I think that it would be great in the media if we saw a wider range of women of all ages, of all shapes and sizes."

18A bit thin? Are you serious? I'm curious as to her measurements. She is unbelievably thin, I find it ironic to be talking about body image when it is obviously an issue for her. Looks at photos from the first Pirates to the third. She's half the person and there wasn't anything to lose.

27I normally think Keira looks like an emaciated 12-year-old boy, but she really does look pretty in these pictures. I think it's the dark color of her hair mixed with her not getting too toothy when she smiles and that hairstyle on her is perfect with her face shape. She's channeling Virginia Woolf or something in that photo with the typewriter!

32I love Keira! I think she is a great actress & is very beautiful. Yes, she is teeny tiny, but that is just her body type. In photos of her in bathing suits you can see that she has muscle tone & definition, not the saggy droopy skin of an anorexic a la Nic Richie. It must be awful to have people constantly tell you that you are too skinny & accuse you of having a disease when you don't
33it's a major pain to be accused of being anorexic. i'm 5'5", 110 lbs and people constantly tell me to eat more. newsflash: eating more hasn't helped. i eat like a starving trucker and i don't gain weight. but i can lose weight in the blink of an eye. it frustrates me that being skinny, naturally skinny, gets people ragged as much as being overweight.

34Deba, you're hilarious. She is very thin, but I'm done guessing whether she starves herself to death or not. Maybe that's just her body type. Either way, it's America's fault for idealizing the "woman as 13 year old boy" look. It's not natural for most women. She always has a very pretty face though (love those lips) and gorgeous hair. Unlike that ridiculous article where she said she wishes she were a size 12 (Please), she does genuinely need to gain some weight if possible. Adding Ensure or protein shakes to a regular diet would do it, it's not impossible for anyone. And even on this ridiculous subject, I wrote a novel.

36Keira is one of those people that I sometimes want to dislike, and yet I can't. She's charming and seems slightly more down-to-earth than other celebrities (though I haven't heard anything one way or the other) and even if she's insincere about some of the things she says - clearly she is concerned about her body image - I can't help but like her.

38I second the comments about this being her body type! There are people in this world who are just skinny. Partly genetics of course. My cousin eats normally and people always bother her about her weight. It's just how she is and the comments really hurt her and have actually *caused* her to worry about her weight.
It's time for us to accept all body-types. People with some extra meat on their bones can still be healthy, as can people who look skinnier than average. The negative comments don't help anyone.

40Wow! Those pics in colonial style (sorta) are very cool. I like them a lot. Keira looks very pretty except in the misphotoshopped cover. Nothing wrong with Photoshop in general. It makes me look perfect in pictures, too

41I actually think in the movie Bend it like Beckham she had more meat...
I know whats to be skinny and being bugged about it, however, I never really wanted to be that skinny... I am 5' and my weight was 90 pounds... So I went to a nutritionist to help me gain some weight, now I am 100 pounds and I'm happy.
But she looks really skinny and on the second pic she looks ill. period. also having in mind that camera adds 10 pounds.
I do think she is a talented actress and way more intelligent that some young stars of today.
