I'm sure it's not as easy as it appears to back out of scheduled TV appearances such as the The View. As much as I don't like Tom Cruise, I have to believe Tom didn't have much say in this one.

Im sure he and Katie cherish their family time more than ever with what has happened to Jett. I know Im doing the same with my family and it made me extra grateful for my blessings.

Someone wrote "Katie looks like hell"..well she has a toddler, a busy career and photographers are constantly in her face taking pictures...are you saying you always look glamorous when you step outside? Maybe she doesn't want to get all dressed up all the time like the general population, I'm sure we look like "hell" too sometimes...

Some reports said Katie had the flu like most actors and actresses on stage are normal to get sick but apparently Katie has to look perfect all the time as some demand here. The woman has makeup on matinee and night time performance so major kudos to her for being natural laid back offstage. THIS FAMILY ARE HEART STEALERS

Preach it Neeta. Not only this lady works everyday but she was supportive on the Valkyrie parties for her husband. Offstage she is devoted to her family and friends but even visits the NY Fireman and police and got busy for their charity Stocking for Care. Im single and just have a dog and Im already exhausted for her.

Happy 2009 to the Cruise family and my heart and prayers go out to the Travolta family....

it has to be hard when you want to make sure that you're taking care of personal things but you have professional commitments as well. at least we know that he was thinking about his friend, and sending his support.

i like this family, as much as everyone else doesn't - i really do like them, and i can't wait to see what comes next for them now that the show is almost over for katie.

I heard Tommy taped The View appearance a day or two earlier just so he COULD make the memorial service. If I remember the Entertainment Tonight report, they showed that he went right from the taping, via a large black limo, to the airport to fly to Florida. So, he did the right thing and changed his plans to be at the memorial.
