First the people chose then last night the critics awarded an A-list crowd of actors, writers and directors with their favorites. Jason Alexander opened the event asking Brad and Angelina to adopt him before Ben Stiller took home the first award of the night for Tropic Thunder as the Best Comedy. The most moving moment was when Heath Ledger won and director Chris Nolan accepted his award with a standing ovation from the crowd. Anne Hathaway tied with Meryl Streep for best actress and in her speech she excitedly rambled in a heartfelt way, ending with a part about her father protecting her and proving that there are good, strong, loving men out there. Milk and Slumdog Millionaire were big winners with multiple wins while Richard Gere received the special Joel Siegel award for his offscreen efforts. i think that it's lovely that Heath did win - i wonder if it's foreshadowing for this weekend? i don't know - but i guess we'll see. that's also interesting that there was a tie for an award -but i'm sure that both ladies were gracious about it.
1So Happy Heath won. Congrats to all the winners. They all looked lovely and the ceremony was awesome. Dustin Hoffman was sooo funny.
I love award season.
Can't wait to see Angelina at the Golden Globes and all the hoopla. Its gonna be awesome.
2Heath
3I really liked Penelope in Vicky Cristina Barcelona but I love Kate and she's due for an Oscar, I'm dying to see The Reader.
Yay for Slumdog but I really don't get the Heath hype, the character was just annoying.
4Is it wrong that I found Anne H. annoying?
5I feel like the CCA is way more indicitive of Oscar then the Golden Globes, and I am happy to say all my picks for oscar were achieved here!
6Fashionplate, I find Anne annoying every time I see her. I'm so glad that Milk is getting some recognition.
7Did anyone see Angelina's face when Anne H. won?? WOW! She showed her true colors... very irritated.
8Angelina was happy for Anne. I have no clue what ur talking about, Blondie. Honestly I thought Ben Stiller was gonna say Angelina's name and maybe she did to because they sounded similar for a split sec. Angelina has won her share of awards already, doesn't matter to her.
9Yay for Tropic Thunder
!
10The adoption joke is so freakin' lame and they do it at almost every award show. Please come up with a new joke, please.
11I thought Angie was responding to Anne saying "Mom stop crying" which is exactly what Angie said when she won the GG in 2000. that must have been tough for AJ to hear particularly this close to the 2nd anniversary of her Mom's passing.
12OT. Freyda, who is that in your avi?
13Love Dianne Lane, and Mickey Rourke is a tad spooky looking now. What did he do to his face?! I just noticed that Common was there. He is so yummy to me. That bold head and those guns(biceps)just um um um.
14If Angelina was irritated, so? I'd be annoyed as well if I'd been nominated for something and didn't win
15im glad angelina didnt win, the film was good but she didnt carry it. meryl streep should win everything
16Leave Angelina alone, new year, my goodness. All the actresses nominated because they were good in the films chosen. These were the actresses that the critics nominated. Think about all the films and actors and actresses that don't get nominated.
17Anne looks like Two Face's girlfriend in that dress. :\
18i think she momentarily showed her disappointment, but then i think she was trying not to laugh because anne was being funny during her speech...it was cute. no big deal.
don't believe the hype
