Many of the fashion world's most beautiful came out to the premiere of Le Scaphandre et le Papillon (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) at Cannes. Mischa seems a little out of place but what do you expect when you're up against Claudia, Naomi and Elle? However, this look on Mischa is much better then her rock and roll inspired red carpet look. The movie is based on the book by former Elle editor Jean-Dominique Bauby. Bauby was almost completely paralyzed in 1995 and communicated his entire story to a interlocutor only by blinking his left eye. The film, directed by acclaimed artist Julian Schnabel, is creating quite a stir at Cannes, and over here in the states as well.

1Toni Colette is not so ugly. She is just not typically hollywood beautiful, and doesn't go to stupid lengths and pack on make-up to look like someone she is not.

4rosyposy- just because someone has access to all those hairstylists etc it doens't mean that they use them. some people are not that shallow, and actually see the entertainment industry as a way to express their acting talents, rather than show off their hair extensions, pounds of make-up and spray-tanned bodies. why are we recognising people more for the way they look then how they act? she is an actress. not a model. don't put her in that category as it's not what she wants to be known for.

7my point is that obviously she has taken advantage of hair and make up stylists and that to me she is still unattractive to me. but beauty is in the ye of the beholder and i do think she is a good actress nonetheless

26Thank you ica_m! I can't believe no one said anything about Naomi's dress? pantsuit? We'll go with outfit...until the 15th comment! It's like a slutty birkha or a bellydancing outfit gone awry. It reminds me of something Melissa Joan Hart or another actress like her would've worn in the 90's.
Elle, Claudia and Naomi still look just as gorgeous as they did when they were the top models. Elle is already in her 40s and Claudia and Naomi are in their late 30s. I don't get it. From all the stories I've heard about models (especially the supermodels from these gals' era), their lifestyle sounds so physically stressful with all the traveling, food restriction, smoking, and drug use. You would think they'd be shriveled up old hags by now, but all you can see is a few very minor eye wrinkles. All I can assume is that they have an incredible plastic surgeon who has ridiculously natural-looking results or perhaps there are paintings of them in a closet somewhere that are aging instead of them, ala The Picture of Dorian Gray.

29Oh and also...every single time I see Sharon Stone on the red carpet, I feel like I've already seen her in whatever dress she's wearing sometime before, if that makes sense. I would assume she doesn't recycle dresses since people rarely do that in Hollywood so I don't know if she just always wears the same style dress or if I'm just crazy. Does anyone else feel the same way?
