I like Angelina, I didn't at first after the whole, "Home-wrecker" thing came out, but I do believe she is a strong woman and an excellent mother ...

I saw that clip, she is big on family and it is nice to see that she is really into having a big family. I guess her household was quite lonely, just her and her brother and her mum (and her mum's lover). Well she has soften up but the film hasn't got a good review here in England and I don't think I wanna see it.

I can't shake the feeling that she's "playing" us with a carefully orchestrated PR front which portrays her as someone very different from who she truly is. In fact, I think she is still "out-there" and using drugs (I have a recent pic of her drugged out in Prague if anyone wants it). She is caught between two personas - the public and the private. Recently the media was reporting on little cracks starting to show (and the fact that she was doing heroin with Marilyn Manson last time she was in LA) and I think these cracks might start to get bigger as time goes on, just like they did with Tom Cruise.

One more thing though, I don't see many actresses promote their film this way, through having a happy family. I think it's slightly strange. Some readers might think I'm picking on jolie here (cause i'm famous for not liking aniston) but seriously guys do you know anyone else promoting a film by talking a lot about his/her own family?? Brad didn't do it with Babel either but jolie seems to be at it all the time.

I think she is very sincere. I think becoming a mother has really changed her, and it has been interesting to watch this woman evolve from a wild child to a very globally aware person who wants to make a difference in the lives of others.

I don't think you can tell from a picture whether somone is "drugged out". I don't believe it one bit.

And to be fair, the interviewers keep the focus on her family.

I highly doubt there is a picture of her being "drugged out" tired or pissed at the cameras, maybe. & as for doing heroin w/ MM? I don't believe that for 2 seconds...

for liking aniston i meant! sooooory about the typo. I think Jolie is honest to a fault sometimes and she needs to be very careful here because she has contradicted herself before in the past. Sometimes her truths change through time (yes i am saying she has lied before).

If you are going to call someone doing heroin a fact, you better have some sort of proof to back it up. That is a strong accusation that I have a lot of reason to doubt.

When are you suggesting was the last time she was in LA, that she did the heroin with Manson?

Yes, Jillness, you CAN tell from a pic if someone is drugged out, when their pupils are HUGE even though the paparazzi's flash bulbs are super bright. It is especially obvious when the person has blue eyes, like Angelina.

What kills me the most is how everyone harps on her past. Yeah, she was wild & crazy. big deal. people change & grow up. she is only 31 after all! Leo D. was a wild wild guy back in the day & now her is an uber-environmentalist & no-one (ok, not many people) challenge him. what makes AJ so different?

I dont think she is using her family to help promote this family. I think naturally, since the subject of the film is about a woman, who is pregnant at the time she loses her husband tragically-- it would make you want to talk about your own family and how you strive to live. And OF COURSE any interview she does she is grilled about her family/love life-- everyone seems to want to know.

I know many many people who were junkies but got clean & live wonderful lives and have great families... it is possible...

LuciLu jolie isn't program to answer every questions that are thrown at her. She can say no, like most people have when it comes to their families, paltrow is a great example of how she tries to talk about her family as little as possible, kate winslet also does the same thing, and the list goes on. Jolie talks about it because she wants to and I just think she is one of very few people who are comfortable doing this. It can also, of course, backfire on her in the future.

i love angelina jolie, and i watched the clip, and i really admire her.

I know it is her trademark to be true to herself in the public eyes. She likes to express herself fully and freely. It is her stamp.

Andaman- I agree that she does seem very comfortable talking about her family, I find that very endearing.

But I do also wonder if it will backfire on her in the future, and hopefully this year she is supposedly taking off in '08, will get them out of the "spotlight" and able to live somewhat normal lives for a while.

nobody talks about Jonnhy Deep drugs and partie's past, Dicaprio was a completely a s s and now is a very decently guy, how about Sean Penn.

yes, she was a little crazy, but now she helps the world, she has a beautiful family and she seems VERY adjust, much more then lot of people in Hollywood.

Brad the dad was a big thing while he was promoting Babel, so that's not true. He did tons of interviews talking about his family.

Halle Berry talked about her personal drama when she was promoting her last film.

I remember Meg Ryan finally spilling the beans as to why her marriage to Dennis Quaid (was it Dennis Quaid?) broke up and why she hooked up with Russel Crowe, she even went on Oprah to do it.

Speaking of Oprah, when Jennifer Aniston was promoting her films she talked all day about her break-ups.

Another Jennifer, Jennifer Garner, has given extensive interviews about her life with Ben Affleck and how she feels about being a mother, while promoting Catch and Release and even in anticipation of other films she has coming to keep her name in the press. (Not a bad thing IMO).

It's what they do. It's why we're here talking about what we think we know about their business. When people don't like a celeb they single them out saying "they just need to shut up about their life nobody cares". I saw this with Aniston when she talked about her divorce. It's part of creating their image, I doubt it's going to stop anytime soon.

It's so weird she never talked about her family but when the Good Shepherd cam about the flood gates opened and I wish they would close right back up.

Yeah, its a slipper slope with the paps and such. If she doesnt answer questions, she is stand-offish and hiding something, but when she freely expresses her feelings she is dishing too much.

If she keeps on talking to the press like she does it probably will backfire because the media is so fickle one day you are a saint the next day you are the Anti-Christ, and it can be particularly brutal when you fall from grace.

No you can tell interviewers before hand that family is no go area. It won't come off as stand off ish, It's all depends on how the celebs want to do the interviews. Every single celeb would have a no go area i would imagine (love life or family life or seedy past)

Matt Damon seems fairly private with his family life but fans and paps alike love him.

I'll echo that sentiment....Cry me a river. Her fans showed no sympathy for others that she ran into in her wake, so excuse some people for not feeling any towards her.

AS for the movie, I've started to hear some negatives too. In particular from reputable news sources who gave the film credit for certain aspects, but ripped it for ignoring the TERRORISTS who murdered Daniel Pearl so savagely for merely being a Jew. They mocked Pitt's comment about everyone playing nicey and mocked the blame. Anyone who can poopoo someone sawing someone's head off ALIVE needs a serious reality check.

I mean, it's what they do IMO. I don't tend to read articles about celebs I don't like if I don't want to know anything about their lives.

I mean Barbara Walters has whole specials devoted to talking to various celebs about their personal business. I'm sure there are certain things they say are off limits, we don't know everything about their lives.

Matt Damon has made that choice, but tons of other celebs are open about their family and since the Jolie-Pitts are hounded in a way Damon isn't. There is an interest there and people, even those who dont' like them and complain about them are still compelled to watch and learn about them, so it's probably another reason why she is more open. And Damon's a guy, they tend to do this with women more.
