It feels like it's been a long time since November's election, but after today's inauguration we officially have Barack Obama as our president. It was a historic day for countless reasons, and there are many aspects of the ceremony that will linger in our minds. From his speech to his taking the oath and his family's fashion — Michelle in Isabel Toledo and the girls in J. Crew — as well as the performances and the general scene, it was an amazing way to welcome President Obama. Tell us — what was your favorite part of today's inauguration?

Levi's
Aftershock
L'Autre Chose
NOT the fashion (except those precious girls). I thought Michelle's choice was awful. She has a beautiful figure and that outfit was frumpy and the color was, well, gross is the only word that comes to mind.
1the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices
2I was just inspired by everything! I got chills during his oath and speech. And was sighing with relief that Bush is gone.
3For me it was the scene and the performance of the John Williams composition. That performance was breathtaking.
I agree about Michelle's dress. It didn't look that great on her and it was a little too flashy for daytime wear in my opinion.
4C'MON!! Rev. Lowry's benediction!!! It was the BEST! LOooooOOOOoved it!!!
5I wasn't wild about Michelle's dress either, but the little girls outfits were adorable. They outshone her
6John Williams arranged the song. he didn't compose it.
Was it just me or was Aretha awful?
7Seeing everyone in the crowd excited and waving American flags was inspiring. It should be like that, we should show that kind of support, for every inauguration.
8I felt like Aretha wanted to cry - which made me cry!
LOVED the John Williams piece. It was from Aaron Copeland's Appalachian Springs, which is so beautiful.
9My favorite part is the fact that I work for a company with extremely conservative views and I didn't have to be inundated with it by the people I work with. I was only inundated with it when I came to the sugar sites.
10i think that the most exciting piece was the huge crowd that was there - i know that in the past there have been so many people at the ceremony but this must have been the LARGEST gathering
11if you don't like it, don't read it. That's what I do on all lindsay and britney articles.
12Anyway, I just loved the crowd. Everyone looks so hopeful and excited. And wasnt Obama cold, he didn't have gloved on or anything!
So amazed by the crowd gathered there, especially in the cold! It really gave me chills whenever they did the aerial shots.
13Hi speech had me in tears.
14I loved the fashion! I thought everyone looked amazing!!! Cant wait to see the choices for the ball!
15His speech was very inspiring and that crowd was amazing! I wish I still lived in DC - I would have been there! I was sad to miss it!
16His speech was amazing and it's amazing to see how far we've come as a nation.
17He gave a great speech. That was the best part.
The worst part was the complete lack of class by everyone in attendance who booed Bush. It doesn't matter what you think of the man or of what he has done he is/was the president of our country and deserves more respect than that.
18I loved the fashion! She looked amazing and appropriate for a first Lady and for the weather. That colour really suits her.
And those precious girls! tey looked adorable!! Sasha and Malia are precious cant wait to see them grow up.
The scene was also very moving
19The crowd is unbelievable! It looks freezing, so I can't imagine how many people would be out there if it was warmer.
The family looks great.
20isn't there a "none of the above" option!??!
21You're right amloveaffair, I should have said arranged. Aretha really didn't wow me. Although her hat was interesting.
I loved the girls outfits. They looked great. Sasha just looks like a little doll.
22The whole day was absolutely beautiful and inspiring.
23the speech??? snooze.... swearing in was the only good part. After that I was done. I stuck through it horrible poet, no hand over the heart during the national anthem, all the sacrilege
24I've noticed Hainan that the hand over heart has apparently become optional, at most of the sporting events I go to I am one of the few who still does this.
25The worst part was Reverend Joseph Lowery
26" We ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to give back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right."
well i guess he was standing. I guess the group of people to the side of him with all their hats on never had a lesson in etiquette.
27I liked all of it EXCEPT for that darn poet. That whole thing was terribly written and booooring.
28I just loved that his eldest daughter was videoing his speech on her little camera! With every tv channel in the world watching the new president, she was videoing her dad on her camera. It was so cute!
29Where was the option for "When it was over"?
30I had goosebumps through out the whole thing.
31The benediction! I loved it!
32I wished they skipped the music until after he took the oath before 12. I was getting ancy waiting for noon:) I took pics of the TV I watched it on, it was great!!
33none of the above, the best part was knowing i could avoid the whole thing.
34I loved the scene as a whole. Very moving to see that many people supporting our newest president.
35ITA with BethM. The inauguration itself was pretty amazing, and I loved seeing the huge crowds who got to witness this historic moment.
