ICYMI, the Oscar nominations were announced this morning, and we're more psyched than ever for the big night in February. While most of the major players of the 2009 award season got nods, there were a few shake ups and surprises as well. 4as much as indie movies making it big makes me happy i kinda dont want it to be like the golden globes was for slumdog winning all the big awards. i would really like to see a little variety in the awards. it probably wont happen but i can still hope.

7i love the excitement leading up to the ceremony, the interviews, the fashion talk of who will wear what. also love the glam of oscar night!
8Ledger is so political. They gave that nod because they only gave TDK the technical awards. TDK and Ledger are so not Oscar worthy. Im rooting for RDJ,Slumdog and The Wrestler.
9It would have been extra exciting and special if Tom and Katie were there.

12Lots of excitement; love the red carpet fashions, Kate Winslet, Wall-E, and Slumdog! Great crop this year, really.
13However... Sean Penn annoys me on-screen and off. I saw Milk and thought it was well done, but overtly calculated to be an Oscar contender (kind of what BB felt like towards the end!). Then Sean with his political antics off-stage... I have a really hard, pretty near impossible, time getting past those to see him as any character besides his revolting self. Penn is the only actor/category I'll be rooting against.
it's all about Heath.
14I am also excited for all of the fashion moments as well as Mickey Rourke getting nominated and hopefully winning.
15I think heath should win. He did an amazing job in the dark knight. He isnt nominated because he died or got certain types people to notice. See it!

17why in the world would they nominate BB and Changeling, they were nothing special about their acting. They should have nominated colin farrell for best actor for *in bruges* he was magnificent, I hope martin gets an oscar for the screen play cause it was the best one i have ever seen & i'm hopping for dark knight, slumdog, and milk get oscars as well.
18and mickey rourke was awesome he should def. win an oscar for his performace.

20Heath is dead, give someone who is alive the awards, nothing against heath but what exatly is he gonna do with the award? Give it to someone who can actually accept it and make a speech. Nothing against heath but im pretty sure he would not have won if he was alive..
well i voted for heath here but i'm actually really thrilled for RDJ and the comedy folks - that's something that i really like to see in the oscars!

22Definately comedies get acting nominations! I was saying to my mom the other day about how rare it is that comedies getting Academy Award nominations when I read that RDJ got one- and I couldn't be happier for him. I hope he wins!

25I CANNOT wait to see who wins the oscar for Best Actor. Sean Penn and Mickey Rourke are both so deserving - it's gonna be a nail biter for me till I see that one announced.
