Brad is truly following in Angelina's footsteps by helping out the less fortunate. He revealed the winner of his rebuilding project in New Orleans yesterday, and also let the residents know he'll be spending a lot of time there in the coming months. Not only will he be observing the progress of his project, he'll be filming a new movie. But it's not all work and no play for Brad, Anglina and the kids are there too. Here's more:

"We're going to be spending a lot of time down here," Pitt said.
Preproduction for his next movie is scheduled to begin in November, and Pitt said he would be in New Orleans for much of January and February for filming.
Around that time, he also hoped to break ground on the first phase of the neighborhood redevelopment project slated for a section of the devastated Ninth Ward, he said.
Pitt said Thursday he's still appalled — embarrassed even — that people in many New Orleans neighborhoods cannot return because of the lack of basic services like hospitals and schools.
"This is a social justice issue," he said. "In a catastrophe, you help the most vulnerable first, and we failed to do that."
Lots more pics of Brad working hard so read more

Daddy for Presidente whoohooo!!!!
1Brad looks rough or maybe it's the suit and that hideous tie.
2Honestly I'm glad they're finally doing charity in America. I'm starting to like them again
3ps - is maddox wearing a black sabbath shirt?! that kid is bad ass
4I think Brad is looking hot again in these pics. Soo cute with his new family.
5Road trip to New Orleans people!!! Maybe I'll finally get my chance with Angi!!!! Who's comin?
Believe in Magic!
6Hey now! It's cool to see that Angi and I both get our boys ROCKBAND tshirts! Chance's fav is his Green Day and Kory's is his Jimi Hendrix or his Pink Floyd!
Believe in Magic!
7Brad's not exactly following in Angelina's footsteps - he's been involved in a lot of "building" charities for years. Brad's always been a kind of "close to home" guy. I wish I wasn't still annoyed at him.
8Is that woman beautiful or what... Never a bad picture of that girl... MUUUAAAA love her!!!
9Also they really like to do charities that have an injustice edge to them. Not a lot of orphans in the US that don't have a waiting list for them. There are a lot of government programs and depts in place here in the states to help people with poverty/disease/hunger whereas other countries children are starving to death.
I think one of the other things she did here in the states was to try to help immigant children fleeing other countries to be able to get legal representation and protection. Pre teen children without parents were taken into custody and being treated as adults.
10My mommy is the prettiest and I look just like her!
11Good for Angelina for making him into a better person. I love it
12They do a good job of giving their kids physical affection. She is always gently touching them in a loving way. So nice and it's very good for the children especially being surrounded by unyielding papparazi.
13He was already doing charities before angelina (he was involved in Bono's one campaign and had taken Diane Sawyer to Africa)..which is why I think he felt such a connection to Angie. She had seen some of the same appalling conditions.
14i saw brad pitt on today show this morning he looked really cute and sweet...but i hate ann curry she is so so phony.
15I liked Ang bak in the day but Brad I've never ared for. this couple just irritated me I think it's all the"goodness" within them. i can't wait till Zahara and maddox do a Mommy dearest on ang.
16good for them, thats good that he follows in angelinas footsteps, cause she does alot of good for people really in need and i love that about her
17There aren't any waiting lists for older US orphans. They're forgotten and entrenched amongst the cracks in the system.
18That why we need more people to be foster parents. I am just waiting until my boys get a little older and then we are going to apply to be a foster family.
19paddy I agree with you. It twists my heart when I think f all kids who are 7 and abobe and know they have no chance of getting a family. I actually want to adopt 4 kids when I get older and they are all going to be older.
20It's about time a celebrity stepped forward and focused soley on helped out New Orleans. With all their money, they should all be going what Angelina and Brad are doing!!
21Unfortunately the foster system is pretty crappy - we need more good people to foster - those not in it to get extra bucks from the system, like Ima!
22I'm suprised Sean Penn isn't doing something. He rescued all of those people and saw first hand how aweful the situation was down there and he was in Spike's documentary. I am suprised he isn't funding a rebuilding project or raising holy hell at the government.
23I just re-read what I wrote and oops - it sounded like I was saying Imabeliever would be in it for the money, which OBVIOUSLY is not what I meant. I meant I imagine she would be one of the GOOD ones. I am so sorry for my really poorly constructed sentence!
24pad.. are you saying I was just going to do it for the money? or that more people like me should become foster parent! I am hoping the latter! LOL! I do love children. I would love to be able to help as many as possible have a good home.
25Ima, I JUST posted about my poorly constructed sentence. My editor would slap me upside the head for THAT booboo!
26I am sure there are a few other celebrities helping out, but they just don't "RECEIVE" the publicity like Angelina and Brad do ... Oddly enough, when these two do good we always hear. Other celebrities do plenty, I'm certain and we never hear ... Odd no ??
27no worries..hehee.
28He wasnet as "giving" as Angie was, now hes more into it than ever.
29I love Brad and Ang. So giving, so loving, so gorgeous, maaan, they show that you really can have it all !! Plus all their babies are adorable I love little Maddox he's so punk rock !
30He was as giving as Angelina, just not as in your face about it. He's been involved with ONE forever and a bunch of other charities, but the punlicity wasn't what he was after. A lot of celebs give more than you might think they do, just quietly and unobtrusively.
31publicity, not punlicity.
32anyone think it should be mandatory for people with income over a certain amount to donate to some charity?
33YAY for environmentally friendly housing!!!!!
34I think everyone should donate something - money, time, etc - to those less fortunate. There are ALWAYS those with less and it takes an hour a week and no money to volunteer at a soup kitchen or at a food distribution charity. Charity isn't always dependent on money.
35true dat padraigin
36Hmm, funny how we haven't seen them in New Orleans, but Brad's filming a movie there and NOW they're 'seeing the damage?'
37I'm all for charity work, but something smells like PR.
I always donate money, to children funds and to the Animal Humane Society. Some of these other charities have some racket going- they are "rolling" in the dough, what they do with all of it, we do not know ... I'm certain 85% go to the charity, but I question where the other 15% goes.
I'd rather donate to Animal Humane Soceity. No one thinks about them during a crisis ... VERY sad.
38Everything a celebrity does is done with some type of incentive attached to me ... Publicity is key. We ALWAYS find out about it and ALWAYS hear about it ... They may have a great heart, but they want all the world to know that as well.
39Lord, and MY SPELLING IN MENTAL TODAY .... I meant, "Incentive attached to THEM"
40Good on him.
41I admire a lot what these two do and can do together. I love both!
42They are so awesome! (and OMG, how cute is Maddox's shirt)
43They really seem to bring out the best in one another.
hooray for world peace and happiness and love...everytime i see these two i think koombaya...i heart them.
44I luv my braddy daddy
45lol corny but i like it
I love these two. He's always been interested in projects relating in any way to architecture. Katrina rebuilding is a fantastic opportunity for him.
I, too, think its great when anybody focuses their attention on projects at home. But charity needs a sort of triage approach. Sometimes, its more important to help the people with the most need - even if they're not your neighbors.
I think sometimes we forget that the majority of people in this country - even those with real hardships - have a much higher quality of life than the entire populations of some other countries. Is it really fair to say that life must be perfect for each and every American before anyone can bother with someone who happens to have been born somewhere else?
46oh the carebears. Love your avatar jen reminds me of my baby sis.
47LOL ny. I'm hella grouchy but I'm feeling *guilty* for saying snarky things while looking like Cheer Bear.
48Okay, so I don't want to totally knock these two, as I know how much great stuff Angelina does...BUT. Members of my church were in New Orleans this summer when Brad was there (his pics were in People). They were told not to approach him or talk to him, but also to treat him like a normal person. I'm not sure how you do that, but anyway. While our team was tearing out molded sheet-rock and installing working showers for an apartment building, Brad walked around and looked at things while getting his picture taken. His "charitable" project is to build a "green" home for a "deserving" resident. My quotes should let you know how I feel about this. Not to knock the environmental stuff, but right now, people don't need ONE solar-powered home built, they need places to live. Period. In any case, I really felt like my friends revealed an interesting inside perspective. I guess it's good he's doing something, but why not something REALLY useful and needed? And because he's filming there doesn't mean he's DOING anything but watching.
Sorry for the tirade! Not knocking Brad or Popsugar's report, more the interesting way we deify celebrities for their "charity."
49making movies in New Orleans, that is what people should be doing to generate some revenue. This is a great step in a good direction. I am glad to see the Pitt Jolies doing work here in America.
