Sarah Jessica Parker launched her Bitten line in NYC last night with the support of designer friends like Narcisco Rodriguez who joined her on the black carpet. The collection, which is being sold exclusively at Steve & Barry's will be available June 7th. From what we've seen so far, it's made up mostly of casual wear (to check it out click here). Sarah says she wanted a line that was affordable without looking trashy. “There’s not going to be any inappropriate midriff showing, regardless of your age,” SJP said. “I feel like, as a culture, we have seen enough damage done by it.” Hilarious! I guess Britney wont be wearing her clothes anytime soon.

33this is a great thing she is doing. steve & barry's has a history of partnering with celebrity lines and cutting out the bloated advertising/endorsement costs to help keep the lines affordable for all types of people. it started with stephon marbury, a basketball player, who was tired of seeing kids get robbed or worse for expensive shoes, and their parents going into debt to buy $200 shoes. so he designed an inexpensive line of athletic wear to sell exclusively at S&B. SJP wanted to do the same since she came from a lower income family. hopefully people won't be super critical of the clothes when they hear the reasons behind the line! she could have taken the easy way out and designed a super expensive line but she wanted it to be accessible for lower income women...
