The cast of Hollywoodland were looking fabulous at the Venice Film Festival. The movie is getting great early buzz, but Ben Affleck doesn't want to call this movie a comeback. It's probably a good idea he has taken a break from crappy movies like Gigli and Surviving Christmas but is America ready for Affleck to return to the big screen? Apparently not. Poor Ben might have been cut out of the commercials due to poor feedback in focus groups. Defamer reports many are still sick of the man who was overexposed by the tabloids.

I don't get it. I never stopped liking Affleck. Of course I never saw Gigli or that Christmas movie. But still. I still like you Ben!!!

11I always liked Ben even through the Bennifer drama..it was JBlo I couldn't stand. I can't wait to go see this movie..I love real life muder mysteries..esp ones that took place during the hey days of Tinseltown. Hollywoodland and Black Dahlia are on the top of my list of must see movies.

Did anyone see Ben, Kevin, Colin, Jennifer on Dinner for Five with Jon Favreau? Kevin said something derogatory about Ben's acting skills and Jennifer Garner said that he had better take it back or she would kick his ass. As soon as she responded so possessively I was like AAAhhhh, she likes him. And that was way before they started dating. It was cute. I miss that show IFC are idiots for cancelling it.
29Surviving Christmas was with James Gandolfini and Christina Applegate. Ben rents them and their house for Christmas so he can have an old fashioned family holiday. It came out at the end of summer when no one was ready for a Xmas movie. It tanked big time.

33Oh thank God..I wouldn't make my worst enemy watch that movie. Dinner for Five rocked. I loved that show. Jon owns the rights to DFF so hopefully another network will pick it up.
34I think Ben is a good guy, bot that I know him personally or anything. I just glad he got rid of Jen #1 for Jen #2. He's genuinely a likable guy on and off screen. I hope he manages his career better from now on.
35Ya..Ben seems like the kind of guy you want to hang out with at a BBQ or watch the game with. He seems like a normal guy..he just got sucked into JLo's world of DIVA..which was unfortunate but completely forgivable.
36This cast is awesome! I am very happy for Ben and the way things have turned out for him. I am really looking forward to this movie. And the Black Dahlia also. It's a great time for us classic Hollywood lovers!

41I bet Ben believes JLo the worst thing that happened to him. Her movie/music/etc career was unaffected by the whole Bennifer thing while his career tanked big time. I'm glad that Ben took the cue to be less media-exposed and I hope this movie does well for him. Diane Lane looks awesome, I like how she doesn't look all botoxed out.
