The closest Carrie Bradshaw got to magazine editing was writing freelance for Vogue, but inside the March issue of Harper's Bazaar Sarah Jessica Parker channels the look of legendary editor of both publications, Diana Vreeland, for a photo shoot. SJP sat down to chat about her new trio of upcoming fragrances, her family and her fashion. Here's more:
- On fashion: "I don’t have the Carrie Bradshaw passion and devotion to it, but I would much prefer that life would allow for a beautiful shoe all day long. To stand in Mr. de la Renta’s atelier and have him build a dress on you, that is amazing. And honestly, it's a great honor to be able to borrow something that weighs 40 pounds and requires three people to help you walk."
- On what she can't live without: "My son! My husband! Food! Oh, fashion? I don’t know. A good bra?"
- On regretting her black wedding dress and wanting to wear white if she gets a do-over: "I’m not kidding. White it up. I’d wear a beautiful, proper wedding dress, like I should have worn on the day. James Wilkie's teacher is getting married, and he said, 'Do you think she will be wearing black?' I said, 'No! I can almost assure you.' Then he said, 'Do you still regret it?' and I said, 'Yes, I still regret it.'"
- Some advice from SJP: "Don't surround yourself with bodyguards and SUVs, and return everything you are loaned in the shape in which you received it — unless you have to cut yourself out of it! Return jewelry, return bags, clean out the bags! I would say, try to be kind. I know what it’s like to get up the courage to approach somebody, to tell them how much you admire them. Why don't you . . . be decent?"
SJP is focusing on her fragrances at the moment, but she'll soon get back into Carrie's couture as she and the other ladies of SATC just officially signed on for the sequel!

I adore her! But I am disappointed they are making another SATC movie. What more could they possibly do? I loved the way the series ended, and I didn't think I'd accept a "different" ending to that ending (the movie), but now there really are no loose ends at all.
1you have to love how she talks about her love of fashion in the same sentence as her family - that's GREAT!
i can't wait for SATC2 - i cant possibly sit still until summer 2010
2She looks great on the cover!
3I can't believe they're making another movie.
The first one was TERRIBLE. They're just
going to run it into the ground even more.
4The advice from SJP about trying to stay real and decent and look down on people admiring you is very refreshing to hear. It makes me think she's a decent person herself !
In other news, I haven't watched the 1st SATC movie and I don't plan on watching the 2nd one. I know I'm the primary target (huuuge fan of the series) and all that marketing made me sick. So I didn't go...
5and NOT look down on ppl... is what I meant, of course...
6I loved the first SATC movie
I don't want them to ruin the whole thing for me by making a
horrible 2nd movie.
7For the 2nd movie to be a success it has to be better than the 1st and how could they top Big and Carrie getting married?
How/Where can I see her black dress? Was there photos released when they got married? I've tried searching but can't find it.
8I wonder what the storylines will be.
9OMG SATC 2 omg omg omg omg I need to know the plot!

AMEN, SISTER. I think there's a whole half of Hollywood who could take some lessons from that one.
11OMGGGG! I'm extremely excited about this sequel! I think this film will be welcomed by all true, die hard SATC fans.
12I loooove Sarah!! She's so down to earth and nice. Probably the nicest celeb out there.
13I can't wait for the second SATC movie, I hope they create interesting storylines like they did with the first one
Love you SJP!
14I like her, and I'm excited about a SATC 2! I've totally worn out my dvds, I watched seasons 1 through 6 again this past week : )
15they airbrushed the crud out of that cover. glad i have never watched one episode of that horrible tv show.
16i am a die hard fan of SATC, so i really hope they come up w/ something good for the 2nd movie. i was fine w/ the ending of the series. the 1st movie was nice, but come on!!! the whole reason they ended the series was because there was no where to go but down. i'll watch it, but i'll probably be disappointed.
17I can't wait for the sequel! I hope it is a little more upbeat than the first one. I just want all the girls to be happy!
18I love how she wore black on her wedding day and still regrets it. She is so human
19I lost my love for SJP after she started supporting Mr. Obama. If you are public figure yous should know better to keep your mouth shut regarding certain issues.
20About the SATC 2 what more could they do? Problems with Big? Samantha getting Cancer back? I think they are going to mess it up... They should learn from The Golden Girls and know better when a good thing is good enough!
But like they say $$$$ Money talks!
at this point, do we really need another movie? this one will focus on whaaat? Carrie getting pregnant, does one of them die?...they have to add something good b/c it's getting old and so are they....Looooved the show
21Great interview. I love her answers!
22@pitip - public figures have the same right to voice opinions in support or against issues as do every person. I find it sad that you judge an actress on who she supports in a presidential race. SJP seems to be a very down to earth, decent person that doesn't flaunt her celebrity - even her throwing her support for a candidate was done pretty humbly.
23She looks wonderful in these pictures!
24That cover has been airbrushed to death! It doesn't even look like her
25She looks great in these pictures!
