More than a year after starting a huge battle with Brooke over antidepressants, and a week after his colleague said he deeply regrets what he said, Tom has finally apologized. Brooke confirmed the news on The Tonight Show on Friday. Looks like Tom is working overtime to clean up his image after being dumped by Paramount. Kind of makes me wonder if poor Katie is doing OK. Maybe now he has seen what Brooke was referring to when she suffered from postpartum depression. Either way, it's a step in the right direction for Tom. Here's more:
Cruise "came over to my house and he gave me a heartfelt apology," Shields, 41, told Leno. "And he apologized for bringing me into the whole thing and for everything that happened.
"And through it all, I was so impressed with how heartfelt it was. And I didn't feel at any time that I had to defend myself, nor did I feel that he was trying to convince me of anything other than the fact that he was deeply sorry. And I accepted it."
Cruise's rep, Arnold Robinson, told the Associated Press in a statement, "It is true that his friendship with Ms. Shields has been mended. He has not changed his position about antidepressants, which, as evidenced by the black label warnings issued by the FDA on these types of drugs, are unhealthy."

Like Penelope said a few days ago: we should accept every religion, there´s nothing bad coming from the sienctology blablabla...yes, maybe thats right, but that doesn´t apologize his terrible behaviour in noooo way!!!!

6i think the company ditching him maybe woke him up, and he MAYBE finally relized bad mouthing a MOTHER on how to handle PREGNANCY is wrong. face it tom, you dont have a vagina, so you dont know bloke.
7The only way he can really turn this thing around, short of renouncing Scientology, is to sit down for an in-depth interview with someone like Babara Walters. Where he can apologize publicly to both Brooke Shields and Matt Lauer (he attacked them on air so it's seem appropriate that he apologize on air), not to mention all the mothers out there who have suffered from PPD, maybe shed a few tears, let Katie speak for herself and show the damn baby already.

He had no business making the comments that he did & the only reason he apologised to Brooke Shields is to try to make himself look better. The guy is just an arrogant a**hole.

24This apology is horsesh*t for the following reasons: it's nothing more than a half-assed attempt at saving his crappy reputation, and he still doesn't agree with the use of anti-depressants. Hypocritical much? What a buttface.

26I can't help but be cynical, especially coming on the heels of his "firing" by Paramount. He has had ample time to apologize to Brooke prior to this, like during her 2nd pregnancy when he started all this nonsense.

28Just because people don't agree with your views, doesn't mean you shouldn't respect them. I think when you look at it that way...the apology could be geniune. He owed it to her because he was basically trying to say she was wrong and he was right....and making such a big freakin' deal about it to the public. Live and let live I always say!

32I doubt the sincerity of his apology as well. I think it is just as most everyone here has said, nothing more than "damage control". His popularity and reputation have plummeted over the recent years, and I'm sure he realizes that.
33It would make sense as to why we arent seeing to much of them an why he apologized if she had PPD but I hope not. PPD is not something anyone needs to or deserves to go thru, much less with a heartless fool like Tom.
