Chris Brown Released on Bail
Chris Brown ponied up his $50,000 bail and has left the police station — TMZ has some video of him on the way out. Chris turned himself in earlier tonight and was booked for the alleged assault of a woman after the Clive Davis party last night. He attended the party with Rihanna and while the identity of the woman has not and will not be released there are lots of rumors going around about what went down. We're trying to withhold judgment until there are some more facts out there, but either way it's a heartbreaking turn of events for a young man who seemed like a sweetheart.
Update: According to sources, E! Online is reporting that the woman involved is in fact Rihanna.

23Unfortunately domestic violence is still extremely prolific in society due to women still being regarded as the 'lesser' sex; I was shocked when I studied legal sociology to find that the statistics are quite high, and they were only for KNOWN cases. Even the rich, beautiful and famous are not immune...

26Gosh I hate men who abuse. So many of us wh suffered domestic abuse never reported it. IT is an unfortunate thing...I am glad that RIhanna reported it.I women see this as motivation to report those "nasties"

29This is disgusting yet utterly sad. I read in an interview a while back, that Brown suffered through a childhood where he watched his mother get beat repeatedly by his stepfather. No woman deserves to be hit under any circumstance. It just makes me sad that the cycle of his childhood continues.
30I'm happy that whomever this happened to, whether it was Rihanna or not, had the fortitude to make sure that legal action was taken against him and not let him get away with it. It must have been serious for her to wind up in the hospital.
31Also, major kudos to Rihanna for calling the authorities. It takes a lot of balls to do that when you know you have 2 major careers dangling on whether or not you make the call. Good Girl!!
