Chris Brown was spotted out in LA on Friday, before his shocking and dramatic Grammy weekend. As we continue to get more details on the assault, friends of both Chris and Rihanna are weighing in on the situation. Yesterday T.I. revealed to Carson Daly that he had spoken with Chris, saying, "He cool, you know. I guess he a little concerned about the situation, but he's still the same Chris."
Ryan Seacrest asked Kanye West for his thoughts during an interview this morning, and Kanye called Rihanna his "lil sis," said he was devastated by the whole situation and that it's nothing any woman should go through. Rihanna's reps have said that the singer is doing well and has thanked her fans for support, but tell us — do you want official statements?

whatever's clever
1I'm so sick of this story how many must you write? it comes down to the same crap.
2i think that it would be good to hear from each side's camp to know what's going on and that she's ok. i feel like talking to friends is kind of like asking celebs about political policy. it's ok to get their opinion, but it's not 'from the horse's mouth' and it's kind of just opinion and heresay
3I want official statements mainly so that I don't have to keep reading speculation about what happened. I can understand Rihanna not wanting to air all the details right now. I'm sure she's just trying to get through what happened herself.
4It's none of our business, but on the other hand I'd rather know the truth than read everyone's speculations.
5How lovely. One felon giving advice to a future felon.
All we need now is OJ, Ike Turner, Jim Brown, Mike Tyson, 50 Cent, and Mystikal to record a hip-hop version of “We Are The World”.
*rolls eyes*
6I want to know the official police statements.
7It's absolutely no one's business, just because you read celebrity gossip doensn't mean YOU are entitled to official statements. This is a tragic but private situation, unfortunately these two are public figures but first and foremost they are human beings and the media and public should really begin to respect that.
8I just want the truth. If Chris hit her, I would like to know. Honestly I would never be a fan of someone who hits a woman. I would also like to know why he hit her, because it would be nice to dispel some nasty rumors about why Chris hit Rihanna if he did hit her.
9I think she was refering to T.I. being a felon
10naima- i believe junkies probably meant TI- he has some charge - i forget what right now, weapons or something? anyways- he definitely has legal problems
11Niama: TI IS a felon, and he's the one who was talking about Chris.
12Rapper T.I. was arrested this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia on federal firearm charges. He was in Atlanta to collect a handful of awards at the BET Hip-Hop award show. Instead, he spent the weekend at the federal detention center awaiting his initial appearance this afternoon.
I am assuming that junkies_la was referring to T.I.
13Yeah, weapons charges. He's going to jail soon.
14I don't care maybe because I'm not a fan of either of them.
15But yeah, I'd rather read the police statement if I want to really know rather than either parties' 'statement' because it'll be all PR-ed up so we don't really know what's going on except if there are charges filed or whatever.
I agree with LaLaLaurie06
16Naima, I'm pretty sure junkies was referring to T.I. defending Chris Brown (because he is a felon who is currently facing charges). No need to jump to any racist conclusions
17Am I the only one who is hoping the Rihanna really follows through with this and doesn't just let it go? Can't she drop the charges? If so, I sincerely hope she doesn't EVER do so. If he did hit her, he needs to go to jail. So many women don't press charges against their boyfriends/husbands and it would send a terrible message to young girls all over the world if she let him get away with it.
As for releasing statements, I don't know. I think it should be handled through the justice system with any statements coming after it's all settled.
18I think she deserves privacy but Chris should speak up and explain himself. Dirt bag!
19No, leave her alone, if this is true it's humiliating enough
20He should keep his mouth shut for now as he is charged with a crime. He can make a statement once legal proceedings go forth.
Rihanna absolutely should make an official statement or do a sit down interview with Diane Sawyer, Matt Lauer or someone like that. Assuming what is circulating is at least a little bit true, she needs to address it.
One of the biggest problems with abuse in relationships is that no one wants to talk about it. People are ashamed, so they hide it.
She needs to address it publicly to set an example for other young women - an example that clearly lays out that this type of behaviour in a relationship is not OK and will not be tolerated at any level.
21I don't want to hear anything from either of them.
22No. It's a private matter.
23that is a very personal matter and I sware I am still hoping that Chris is not a monster but it seems all the signs are pointing to that he flipped out on her. Supposedly she is not the one that called the cops so she may have wanted this not to get out I am ASSUMING....
I really love them together but I am a so shocked of what went down. A closed fist punch is the worst thing a man could do.
24In a way, yes, because I want to know what's happened to Rihanna and if she's okay. And part of me doen't want to believe it.
25Then again, it's non of my business too.
and I really hope that nobody here was calling Kanye a felon..he is a brilliant young man and he is not a criminal. He comes from a very educated home.
26I feel bad for both of them going through this situation in such a public manner. For R because she seems like the victim and needs room to work through what happened. For Chris because he comes from a cycle of abuse and this is something he never wanted to be part of, but obviously has issues from his childhood that need to be worked out. The silver-lining in all this is that domestic violence is a topic of discussion all over the place now... I even saw information about what to do if you are a involved in DV on MTV's home page recently. That is cool.
27he is an a$$, take him to jail....
28Yup they are in the public eye your personal life stop being so personal. Tell us..
29It is a private matter and no woman deserves to be in an abusive relationship.
30Actually it is interesting to hear their friends' reactions. I love TI's music, but his response is incredibly disappointing, as are his own legal problems. And Kanye's response is appropriate, it makes me respect him more even though he is somewhat of an ass in general.
As far as Rihanna and Chris Brown, if she wanted to give a statement I think it would be a strong thing to do. People keep saying "let her dad or Jay-Z kick Chris Brown's ass," but honestly I think a statement from her as a strong woman would be powerful, as would legal prosecution. However, I could see why she would want to be private. Also, I don't care what Brown says, if he has a defense, fine, he can present it in court and make a statement after he gets absolved, but anything other than that he can just stfu. And I especially don't want to hear a fake-ass apology and then his announcement he's going to rehab. He's just done, in my eyes.
31Agree snowbunny!!! I loooove rap music, but would it kill rappers to be more articulate? "He cool"? He's "a little concerned about the situation"? Uh, I would hope he's concerned! Duh!
32I think he should say all he needs to say to her parents and the judge; who we are not. These people don't owe us anything at all.
33All we need now is OJ, Ike Turner, Jim Brown, Mike Tyson, 50 Cent, and Mystikal to record a hip-hop version of “We Are The World”.
------------------------------------------------------------Ike turner died last year. But I'm sure Tommy Lee a still living white rocker and wife-beater can join in.
34I Dont know why but i think this could a publucity stunt.
i mean didnt they say she was broke?
if its that is sad!
35bobby brown.. too
36agree with snowbunny ^
37I need the truth straight from the horse's mouth!
38Rhianna's rep did give a statement although he didn't say much. I'd like to know what Chris has to say and what explanation he can give for all this. I think when you live such a public life like this it goes with the territory when something so major happens liike you're arrested how do you expect the press not to talk about it?
39WHATTT?????????? he MORE THAN HIT HER PPL!!!! DID YOU NOT READDDD OR WATCH THE NEWS AND HEARD THE INJURIES SHE SUSTAINED????? you can hit a child...this is not "hit"...beat almost the living crap out of her! :'( NO WOMAN..i don't care if you are a fan of hers or hate her for whatever petty reason..she is a woman ..THERE IS NO EXPLANATION to doing something like that to another human being..especially someone you are in a relationship in...he like a bloody demon! ...bite marks?? he is a dog?..oops sorry..i love dogs and they are way better than this immature piece of crap called Chris Brown! Rihanna had to cancel everything..he mashed her up pretty madly and severely, yeah she living.. but what a thing to go through..only a heartless piece of crap wouldn't get it!..i am so sick of men thinking they have the right to beat women and then the ignorant women open their month going against they own gender trying to justify a man beating up a woman! :'(...I HATE HIM...i don't CARE ANYTHING ABOUT THAT WOMAN BEATER...LIKE IT OR NOT...IT IS WHAT IT IS! sick of ppl making up rumours online trying to justify..and i am soooo tired of ppl thinking they "know" someone to say that they couldn't and wouldn't beat a woman without cause....some ppl are so naive indeed...never swear for a man they say...main point...this lil 19 year immature wanna be man...or beast physically abuse a woman...Rihanna and the coward left her in the road!...that is sick and aggravating...ppl thinking all of a sudden....maybe he is accustomed to beating her...but this is the worse it ever got and she was sadly one of those women who put up with it for "love"
...i hope he is ruined ...LOL..horse mouth or not...he beat her up and that tour she had is cancelled
too....idk...like i said main point...he DID beat her up and NO WOMAN deserves that..the men should go and leave the woman not harm them......
40Funny how ppl want to make this a laughing matter...well...just hope your day doesn't come unless you like that kind of thing..that's all... these types of men seem sweet in the beginning....then things change...he is a bastard..open your eyes...this is no "stunt"! gosh...totally messed up ppl with no heart it seems but then again...LOL.. what to expect...unfortunately many won't get it, don't have to be ugly to beat a woman...many of the seemingly smart, good looking and talented men beat the hell out of women and many don't ever know..cause they only see the outside..i am just so sadden by this so much, i just feel really bad about this and hope she keeps away from him! She needs some smart women right now to help her through especially those who have been through abusive relationships that can understand her :'(..he made sure that she couldn't go out and perform or work and i hope she shows him he can't stop her and rise above as he floats lifeless...or drowns...either way.....
41its better that they clear the air then let the rumors spread and get out of proportion
42Normally, I wouldnt pry or wonder too much about what happened, because its really noones business but their own, but this story is getting so out of hand and is being covered by every media source that its really confusing and its damaging both of their careers because of it. Some radio stations here in the Twin Cities are boycotting Browns music, hes being dropped from all his endorsments and the poor girl is cancelling all her shows. And noone really knows what happened for sure. Itd be helpful to get a statement to settle the publics speculation and put this case to rest and let them handle it on their own.
43Unfortunately, as public figures, their private fight has turned into a media storm. Like or not, both singers are seen as role models to some, and need to clarify whether this is a case of domestic violence or not.
44I think it's better if they stay quiet. Or at least I wouldn't want to hear a statement from Chris..what would he say? "What a valuable experience to learn from...yes I beat the crap out of someone but I apologize and I hope we can all move on".
45i think that he needs to talk and tell us wat he was thinking. i think she should leave him.she needs to move on because thats whats best for her. she should talk and tell us why she still loves him and wat happened.i love rihanna and i feel terible but she has no moral compass right now.there are children looking up to her for and anwser and the right one.
