Funny, before Jessica Nick was a "has been"? Not really. He had all the money and "fame" when they got married. They did the show TOGETHER, to help BOTH their careers. And she's heartbroken? She divorced HIM. I'm sorry, you don't get to be the person who allegedly cheats, then dumps your husband and play the sympathy card at the same time. Nick was the dumped one, he has the right to play the sympathy card. Little Miss Chicken from the Sea... not so much.

I watched that special and I think she's full of crap. She fake cried and then made a big huge deal out of it. If you were really emotional would you make a big deal out of it in front of LOTS of people you don't even know??? It's all for publicity, just like everything else she sayd and does.

I can only speak for myself (obviously), but my harshness toward Jessica has nothing to do with Nick. I haven't even heard his song because a) even in his 98 Degrees days I didn't listen to him and b) I don't like whiny-boy music and Nick has always struck me as that kind of guy. So my Jessica bashing, if you will, isn't because I'm on Nick's side. They both need to shut the hell up.

From most accounts, Nick was a victim of PimpDaddy Simpleton's "hon, let's trade up in the man department" scheme. It failed, so now we have the histrionics over the breakup. A breakup SHE wanted. Do I think Nick was an angel? Probably not. No one is. But bottom line, she divorced him amongst some pretty heavy infidelity rumors - rumors NICK never addressed, which goes to show that he's not a jackass. He could have slagged her all over the place but never did.

And I'm not even a fan of his music. I just like him because of what he did for a charity auction I was involved in.

I agree with Nick222. For the longest I have read all these comments putting down Jessica and always talking so high and mighty about Nick but it was clearly to see on the show that Nick was always jealous of the fact that he was a nobody compared to her. Even on one episode where they didn't ask him for his autograph only Jessica's and the show with the video like Nick222 said. He went and re did the whole thing and it still sucked. I like his new songs and I love his voice, but I hate how every one keeps talking about how bad Jessica is. A marriage is a hard thing to keep going and obviously it didn't work but why does it have to be Jessica's fault? I love Jessica Simpson and will always continue to be a fan of both Jessica and Nick. I don't see Nick complaining, He happily moved on way before Jessica even thought about it. I wish Jessica lots of success and I hope she doesn't read all this non sense and crap people keep writing about her.

I am a Jess basher because she deserves it. Sure Nick has his faults and I am sure they had problems but I believe that Jess allowed her father to make her decision to divorce Nick for the publicity and she was too dumb to speak up for herself.
2) The whole divorce settlement thing really made me TEAM NICK. Nick made more money when they got married and he was all too happy to share with her and not have her sign a prenup. Yes a lot of the money they have was off things she did but is that any different than a man who works and a woman who stays at home? NO! When you are married you share and share alike. She may have actually been in the film and sold the records but it was their MARRIAGE that was marketed and sold which allowed her to receive the oppotunities in the first place. And to offer him some crappy 1 mil settlement is wrong and greedy (which I am sure was orchestrated by Papa Joe)

Leave jess alone. Nick also benefited immensely from the divorce. What's left of me really played up the Jess broke my heart thing and honestly if they had been married his album would have been on the flop heap of 2006 right below Paris Hilton's album. If Nick can milk the divorce to push sales why can't Jess. all's fair in love and war.
