The entire cast of Slumdog Millionaire is ecstatic over winning Best Picture — Freida Pinto looked gorgeous in her bright yellow gown at the Fox Searchlight celebration in LA while her young costars posed with Mickey at Disneyland yesterday. The younger kids will be heading back to school, but Dev and Freida are just getting started with their careers. Next up, Freida will be working on Woody Allen's next film, and Dev Patel joined M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender. For now, they're still gushing about their big win, which included a stop by Oprah with Best Director Danny Boyle. Here's what they said:
- Danny on the film: "It looked like it might go to DVD and have no release in North America. It's always been like that; it's always been like a Cinderella story. [...] It's a huge historic moment really for Bollywood and Hollywood. It's the first time where they've reached across to each other."
- Dev on the Oscars: "Walking the red carpet with all of these stars that have inspired me to get into acting, and they're behind me . . . it was a sensory overload for me. I couldn't believe it. I was just all over the place bouncing around. It was great."
- Freida on the dating rumors about her and Dev: "The two of us are really good friends. This is our first film — we've been sailing in the same boat. We just help each other so much, just balance off each other — so people have translated that into something else."
Dev and Freida have been side by side for this whole crazy ride, and joining with the rest of their costars, everyone seems excited about taking home such an honor.

Freida looks great. Yellow is a good color for her.
1What I want to know is how the younger kids are living in Mumbai? Like how much money they got and is their family being taken care of and all that. Not in a rude way, just curious.
2How does Freida look so amazing in everything? I'm so jealous! That yellow looks great on her. The kids look so cute, and I'm excited for Dev and her careers!
3If I wore that yellow I would look like I was directing traffic, her skin tone is pretty amazing!
Oh and was it weird for anyone else to hear Dav speak with a British accent - I was so pulled into his character that when I heard the British I was so surprised.

I think I'd only be weird if you've only seen him in Slumdog.
5Everyone is so happy and cute. I heart Dev and Freida but I'm starting to love Danny Boyle too!
6Freida is gorgeous!
7Awwww the kids are so cute.
8Yay for all things Slumdog! So sweet that those kids were able to take in DisneyWorld!
9Oops, DisneyLand...I'm used to the East Coast!
10aww how cute those kids are..
11so great that they went to disney..
I love Fredia's dress! I wish she had worn that to the Oscars instead of that sparkly blue number.
12Freida looks amazing in yellow. I remember she wore yellow on Craig Ferguson and looked absolutely amazing, it's definitely her color. I'm so happy the cast of Slumdog are having the time of their lives and enjoying every minute of this! Esp the kids! And wow, Freida got a part in a Woody Allen movie! And Dev with M.Night-that's pretty amazing.
13I love this movie, love the cast, and love the family they have created with each other.
14she has the most amazing skin - I think that's why every color under the sun looks great on her
15Yay! Go Dev and Freida! May your careers soar! Cheesy, I know but I'm really happy for them.
16i love that their 'first film' got them such recognition and i hope that it translates into other successful careers. it has to be kind of hard knowing that you were a part of such a huge film but that you didn't get a nod yourself, but im' sure that there will be great things to come for both of them as their careers develop
17I heard that these kids barely got paid ANYTHING for this movie (like, $1000 or something). I wonder if it is true. If so, then they will be back to the slums in no time
. I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me that they wouldn't pay them close to what they do the
Americans
18Did they really find these kids in the slums? It's also possible they auditioned and are from wealthy Indian families. There are a lot of rich people in India too.
19I'm SO happy the kids were at the Oscars...they were the real actors of this movie.
20I love them all
I'm so happy they won so many Oscars!
21NYC0820- I completely agree!!
I believe I read an article that Danny Boyle would be paying for the childrens' education through college as payment for their work. I think that's an incredible intelligent and excellent form of payment. I highly doubt these kids were from wealthy families judging by the way they acted (it was just way too real- and yes it's possible, but I am inclined to think they do live in Mumabai's slums). I also say that this form of payment is good, because it would be difficult for other family members to get to any actual money.
Education is the way to break out of poverty.
