Katie Holmes posed for a naughty and nice photo shoot in the 70th anniversary April issue of Glamour magazine. She opens up about Tom Cruise, Suri, and how she deals with all of the media attention. She also denied any pregnancy rumors, and seems very happy with her cozy family. Here are some highlights:

- On being a mom: "Well, becoming a mother has been the most amazing experience—in an instant you become strong. You have to be a little bit wiser; it’s the most important job in the world. Of course [the responsibility scared me.] During the first couple of days [with Suri], we would just sleep right next to her to make sure she was breathing. And I was constantly learning on the job, but Tom was very helpful and supportive."
- On press about Suri: "Some of the stuff [people said] was such absolutely horrible things to say about a child. It was so uncalled for and so disgusting. Enough is enough. Yes, [Tom told me not to worry]. We were changing diapers. He said, 'I don’t want you to get upset.' And I said, 'Well, I am upset.' So we approached it together. But I definitely felt like—as a woman, as the mother of Suri—I want to handle this! My mom is very strong, and if anyone ever said anything about any of us, she would be, 'Excuse me? That’s my family!'"
- On their typical family life: "We’re all together. We like to be together, so we use the house for our [business] meetings. [We] play Yahtzee, board games, Scrabble. We grill; have pool parties. We play 'The Three Little Pigs' and Suri is the Big Bad Wolf. [Tom] reads storybooks to Suri, and we all laugh. When a good song comes on, he’ll break out in a dance. We’ll watch movies in bed—recently Madagascar and Cinderella, for Suri. We really have a good time."

- On what Tom is really like: "He loves women; he was raised with sisters. He’s strong and intelligent and very, very funny. For my thirtieth birthday he couldn’t be in New York [where she was doing her play]. So he organized the whole audience at that show to sing “Happy Birthday” to me, and then he had a cake rolled out on the stage. But he’s not a dreamer—he just does it. He’ll say, “I think I like that movie,” and the next day, “I’m going to make that movie!”
- On always knowing she would marry Tom: "When Top Gun came out, my sisters were like, 'Oh, my God, Top Gun! Tom Cruise!' And I very confidently said, 'I’m going to marry him one day.' It wasn’t like, How do I get to Tom Cruise? It was just: I think I’m going to marry him. Why not? He’ll like me. I’m fun."
- On her work: "I want to do it all. Bad girl, good girl, complicated girl. Aren’t we all complicated? And I like all different genres: comedies, dramas, action, musicals. I’m taking jazz and ballet lessons."
Katie seems confident in her relationships and happy with her family life and we can't complain either since we love seeing her out with Tom and adorable little Suri.
Wow, she looks amazing on the cover. I have mixed feelings about the black outfit.
1I wish we saw more pictures of them as a family, they're lovely.
2the cover looks great, but in the black outfit I think she looks old and very 80's for some reason
3Not sexy. Sorry, just trying to hard and not succeeding.
4will she EVER escape that label of "captive former teen star married to a weirdo" ??? Will tomcrews? When you read about how she's shielded from not only one-on-one interviews during the first years of marriage, but also from her family and friends, I'm thinking: she's now brainwashed enough for them to let her out in public by herself ...
5I remember when katie looked like that WITHOUT photoshop.
6Beautiful inside and out
7Blah, blah, blah
8She's only famous because she married Tom Cruise...boring.
9I'm not sure what's going on with that black outfit...or the one on the cover, for that matter.
I find it very hard to take these pictures seriously, especially when they follow the poses of Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill et al...LOL! I agree that she still seems to be trying way to hard to be someone that she is not.
Too bad, because normal old Katie Holmes had a natural look and attractiveness that suited her. I wonder if we'll ever see her again.
10Why will people wonna see Katie in the Creek? She is allowed to be a woman like the rest of us. A Jewish proverb said "we dont stay the same forever".
She is stunning and grounded. Good for her not doing the racy shots like most actresses do.
11GORGEOUS & CLASSY!!!!
12dude, she's not wearing pants in the black outfit.
13It's sort of a bullfighter in black tights look then, eh?
And Top Gun came out in 1986. She was, like, seven years old. Are we really supposed to believe this stuff? LOL
14What a wonderful interview and Katie is a natural beautiful. She's gotten so confident and sophisticated.
15i love and adore katie and i'm so glad that people are finally willing to let her be happy and settled in her family. i think that everyone's finally willing to admit that they are in love and a happy family and that katie's really coming into her own. i would love for suri to have a sibling...maybe after this movie....
16Shannolyn aka Michelle Williams fanatic:
Im sure Katie saw Top Gun years later not on its premiere day. I know I was not allowed to see the movie until I was a bit older because of the scene of McGillis and Cruise.
17My parents were strict on what I was watching then.
18So lovely and she's a sweetie. I find her life and career so intriguing.
19LOL!!!!
20Loved the interview and I love her. I ignore the tabloids like trolls online. Its rehash trash on all celebs like the whole Aniston,Pitt and Jolie broken record. Time to move on.
21Why can't she look this good in real life?
22wow she looks fab
23Holy photoshop!
24She looks boring and un-edgy like the WASP moms that pick their kids up at my school wearing driving jackets, ill fitting capris, driving mocs and have french manicures. And that hair doesn't help.
25Oh, wait, she is a WASPY mom who wears diving jackets, ill fitting capris, driving mocs and gets french manicures!
Why is she on the cover of Glamour? It looks more like the cover of Town and Country.
That's a good assessment, Silvers567. It fits--a woman whose entire lifestyle is thanks to who she married.
What's up with that pose in the black tights get-up? It's like someone went out of their way to make it an unflattering shot, making her legs looks weirdly huge.
I'm so sick of seeing her try to be Posh, especially when both have been in the public eye long enough for everyone to recognize it's all imitation and 180 degrees away from who she was just a few short years ago. Sometimes imitation isn't flattery--it's just evidence of no sense of self, style or orginality.
26She has the most gorgeus eyes like Suri. Im glad Glamour picked her because she has cool traits so rare in Hollywood.
27This young lady loves her family more than anything and she has amazing strength and grace how she handled the changes in her life and gossip.
Really beautiful and a
28class act.
Oh, poor Katie!
The people are so mean to her.
But then they call the paps so the whole world gets to witness the "happy" threesome. There are pics at agencies' sites that show how it's all set up.
Or they have cult members describe how "just like us" they are like that server the other day who was hired for their party. They never have non-members anywhere in their lives, in the beginning Katie wasn't even allowed to speak to anyone without a cult member being present to listen in, report back and spy on her.
That's all so fake and superficial. If she can't take the heat, she should have stayed away from marrying that crazy midget.
Poor kid though, she doesn't get to experience a normal childhood, always locked up in that compound when she's not carried around, always dressed like a model - unlike most other celeb kids who are actually allowed to interact with peers.
Advice from a classically trained dancer: get a better teacher, Katie. No one who takes serious ballet lessons has your kind of bad posture.
29In every interview, both Tom and Katie keep talking about how "strong" they are. Every one. I can't take them seriously, I think they take themselves seriously enough for all of us.
30*cough* vapid *cough*
31She's so pretty!~ Great interview btw *_*
32Katie has grown to be a sure confident and beautiful woman. She's amazing and she has officially squash her teeny image.
33I don't get it when people compare Katie Holmes to Posh. She is NOTHING like her. She doesn't dress like her, she wears flats sometimes, she actually smiles, and looks 10x more approachable than Posh. If it's the hair, then lots of people trade in their long locks for edgier bobs. Her short hair actually flatters her face. Before her "transformation," I had absolutely no interest in Holmes, but I actually think she looks stylish, classy, and sophisticated now. As for Posh, she bores me like no other.
34I think Katie looks sad and tired all the time.
35I love her, and her family.
36she is way more casual than Posh.
37I know she is way more casual than Posh--she is nothing like Victoria Beckham, in fact. That's EXACTLY the point I'm trying to make.
Why is she trying so hard to cop Posh's look and poses and everything in this photo shoot, just like she did in the Miu Miu ads? (All I ever read all over the 'net was how blatantly similar it was to VB's Armani ad) Why not maintain or even recreate an image/look of your own, and reflect something of herself instead of (badly) trying to look/act like someone else?
Katie Holmes has definitely been trying to imitate Posh since she became acquainted with her--I am certainly not the first to point this out.
38This is the VERY first line of the GLAMOUR article:
"You know the image of the Katie Holmes we always see on the red carpet: hair over one eye, tall and slim, wearing couture and looking very Posh Spice?"
lol...lol
39I LIKE KATIE HOMES AND TOM CRUISE. YES I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A BUSSINESS DEAL WITH TOM CRUISE I KNOW WHERE HE LIVES AT THE BEACH IN TAMPA FL. I WOULD LIKE TO MEAT HIM AND TALK ABOUT THE DEAL. HE CAN CALL ME AT 813-503-5349 AND IT WOULD HAVE TO BE ON A WEEKEND OK....
