IMO, They both have publicly humiliated themselves. Chris Brown for know being known as a woman beater and Rihanna for not pressing charges and not taking a stand against domestic violence.

She should press charges to take responsibility for her physical and mental health and not rely on others to make the case for her. That's part and parcel of being an ADULT, which I'm not sure these two are, regardless of their calendar ages.

Justice should be served, but if she decided to move on then she should. They have her statement and photographic proof, that should suffice that assault happened.

People are clamoring on how Rihanna should stand up for DV, I don't remember all of this when Pam Anderson was beaten by Tommy Lee while she was holding there son or when Charlie Shenn kicked a pregnant Denise Richards ass. Both women returned to the man the abused them.

Her example should me motivation for other women/girls to leave their abusive relationships, not rationalization for them to stay.

Of course I think she should testify and send him to prison, but more than that, she should never EVER have taken him back. He tried to kill her. And unfortunately odds are that he's going to do it again.

She's setting a terrible example for all young girls. Maybe next time she'll leave him. It's going to happen again because he clearly can't control himself. Hopefully she doesn't fall into the cycle. This isn't some lovers quarrel. Chris Brown has been charged with two felonies. A felony is much more serious than a misdemeanor. They would've been required to have plenty of sufficient evidence to press charges at all. Where is the gray area here--because I'm not seeing it.

He violently punched. bit and beat this woman with every intention to inflict the utmost physical harm. If he did it to her--a woman he professed to love--then what would stop him from doing it to someone else? What would stop him from doing it again? She has already admitted to police that it was an ongoing issue and it was escalating.

This isn't an argument that needs to be put behind them. This is a violent crime. And she needs to testify.

I'm now almost at angry at her as I am at him. She's set a terrible precedent for others to accept domestic violence. Too many people in today's society already think it's ok and that the victim often 'deserves it'. She's a terrible role model for young people and doesn't deserve to be in the public eye. I don't know how someone could be so reckless with their safety and lacking in self respect. Doesn't she care how much this would be hurting her family and friends?

Because she has taken him back, I don't think the DA can trust that she will go up there and tell the truth. She may color or distort what happened to try to protect him. Sparklestar is right - she needs counseling. Battered Woman's Syndrome is very real and desperately hard to break. I am speaking from personal experience here, none of us (domestic violence victims) ever wanted what happened to us; for reasons that differ from victim to victim we all thought the abuse was our "due". That somehow we had caused it. Caused the anger, the violence, the torment. It takes a long time in therapy to figure out that this thinking is wrong and having to learn it in a public environment like Rihanna is doing now is probably doing even more damage because of the judgement raining down on her from every corner no matter *what* she does.

we don't know chris or rihanna and yeah they probably did try to make rihanna look even worse like chris broke her ribs and sh*t and yeah she probably hit chris first and which made him put her ass in check ain't know tellin what was goin on she lied on him and told wat he did to her and didn't tell what she did to him first, because i have a cousin who have never laid a finger on his babies mama and she lies and tells the police that he busted down her door and slammed her to the ground got my cousin locked up for a week for that and he didn't even see her that day she's very violent he has no choice but to whoop her ass, and if she ever does hit my cousin he gonna hit her ass back she think she can fight like a dude well get hit like one. and plus if it wasn't rihanna nobody would care but since it's rihanna it's the end of the world. did anybody ever know that actor joe torry right after the chris brown incident beat his wife down? did anybody care about that yeah bet ya didn't know bout that did ya? exactly. the only reason why people goin crazy over this incident is because it's rihanna. and don't blame chris brown for her big ass forhead she was born with it.(LMFAO)!!!!!!!! i hope he f*cks up her life like she did his. but then again they need to squash this they whole relationship was probably a publicity stunt.
