The graduating class at Falls Church High School in Virginia was lucky enough to have Ben Affleck as their speaker at their commencement ceremony. His speech was a tribute to Joe Kindregan, a student with a degenerative disease that Ben had met and befriended on the set of Forces of Nature. Ben showed both his goofy and serious sides, making fun of movies like Gigli and bringing his audience - including Jennifer Garner - to tears, saying, "I'm here because what I learned about the distance between how you see someone and who they are, I didn't learn in Hollywood, I learned from a classmate of yours, my friend, Joe Kindregan." Ben definitely has his more abrasive side, but we love hearing about moments like these that show how sweet and down to earth he really is.

I kinda like the dress, but I do love how she always dresses appropriately, where she looks just like everyone else. I guess that's what I like about her- she doesn't try to have the attention focused on her. Could you imagine if he was still with J-Lo and she came to this graduation with him?

17That is my high school. When I graduated we had the widow of our former principal as the speaker. Sweet, yes, but I was so jealous when I heard about this! We also graduated on our football but they upped the ante for Affleck and put it at the George Mason U Patriot Center. It's great that Ben did that though. I just wish he had done it 7 years ago for my class!!

It seems that there are 2 types of celebrities: Those that look to make the WORLD a better place once they acheive huge success, and those that simply want to further their own fame.

37Wow, it's not every day you'll see a celeb doing something like this. I wasn't too thrilled with Ben after his rant on Bill Maher's show, but after reading this I have a whole lot of respect for Ben now. This was really sweet of him, and I wish more people in Hollywood were like this.
